combo with incdec buttons?how?

i want to add inc/dec buttons to a combo.
i did get this working one time, while discovering Ctrlr
modulators, but it was a fluke, and i can’t work out how
to do it properly:

i want the buttons to step through the list up/down,
as well as using the dropdown list normally.
