      Lately I’m having troubles when I try to scan in Ableton a new created panel instance dll.

      Ableton crashes and I get the following error:

      Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
      Runtime Error!
      Program: C:/Prog… (I can’t really see the full path, I suppose it’s Ableton Live.exe)
      R6025
      -pure virtual function call

          Yes, but it has happened with previous 5.2 revisions, too. Usually I was able to rescan it successfully reopening Live, but this time I always get the error.

              It’s Live 8.2.2 on Win XP SP3 32 bits.

              My small panels don’t have problems when scanning or exporting them, only one big panel is causing it.

                Well it will be something panel specific, i imagine something in Lua triggering something bad. I tried an empty instance on my VM/XP SP3/Live and i got no problems. So i will have to try it with the panel you say is at fault.

                  I’ve downloaded VSTHost (a light plugin host) in another XP machine to load the dll panel instance and it works fine, so it could be a issue with my computer or Live.

                  Anyway i’ll send you the panel.

                    This issue still happens with my panel. I’ve changed computer, os and still fails. I can export a vst instance without errors, the log file don’t throw any error or warn, but when any host I’ve tried (Live, Reaper, SAVIHost, Vegas Pro and VST-Plugin Unit Test) try to scan the dll, they all crash.

                      Well i need the actual instance to test, or the panel to export and test.

                          I think i fixed it, it’s one of those C++ things thats complicated yet very simple, i have no idea how that did not crash before. I need to test a bit more but it should be fixed in the new nightly. btw your panel is all white.

                            Yeh, I forgot to give you a file with resources, sorry!

                            If you need it to test tell me.

                                  Sorry, wasn’t aware of the new Nigthly. I’ve just tried it and it works fine, my exported instance no longer crash Live.

                                  I’ve tested the new feature about saving and restoring user data. In Ctrlr standalone it has been working fine, both storing and retrieving data, but with the exported instance, when the vst starts it doesn’t find the stateData stored. I’ve saved Ctrlr state before exporting the instance like I do with the standalone, but it fails.
