current version of the file: >>
for anyone who wants to have a look.
i’ve found the sizes and layout for a 6oct representation
of a keyboard with labels, with a reasonable size for text
here.
also created a lot more display space for the controls,
whilst making the overall size smaller, so should be able
to do something with that. could be interesting for display
of all 12 ‘multi’ key offsets together – with a few presets
maybe, for quick setup.NB: this is more of a study in UI design than a proper panel
project, still, at this stage. lol was hoping to engage a bit
more discussion … 🙂>obviously not a final colours and layout view, still in roughcut.
really have to see how parameters update with button select, to
see what’s going on – keys also display on keyboard when clicked,
not visible here.Attachments:

so this is probably quite ugly, this UI, at this stage.
i’m trying to deal with the functions (very slow process).
hope to get some opinion and suggestions 🙂
do you think i should swap the faders for rotaries?
other ideas? (maybe hate it/don’t care/etc.)colours are temporary; the idea is a sort of LCD, obviously.
the side buttons are all temporary; i’m chucking stuff there
that will stay or go, getting an idea of a layout and final size.
keyboard colours are temporary as well. and there’s a fair bit
of junk onscreen at this stage that will eventually show/hide.
still have loads of work to do on it before i get to sending
a sysex message 🙂again, the main thing about this UI is the way the modulators
are re-used for each ‘key’ (pad button + data group ID), and
updated from tables written on the fly. this will no doubt
cause problems to be dealt with further down the line, but
i think the principle is sound.- This reply was modified 5 years, 10 months ago by human fly.
November 14, 2018 at 9:51 pm #87314great job! can it be used in real time for tweaking with an external midi controller while the drummachine is playing?
can the parameters recieve midi control?
i think faders are better, less space, more obvious state-checking and mouse-tweaking
i have a rx7 that i love for pushing sounds and programming to unexpected results, i would like to implement some patch in pure data that generates random-ish poly tweaks and trigs, maybe via this thing you are developing

November 16, 2018 at 8:08 am #87320thanks !
ye-eah, that was coming along quite nicely until someone
wrote off my van and my insurance company ripped me off.
had to spend a lot of time chasing that instead.
NEVER trust those ho’s on the phone, you’ll get more honesty
in a strip club. (i am naming and shaming AssurOne group,
avoid like the plague.)so i don’t know when i’ll feel free-ed up enough to pick this
up again.this still does not send ANY data, do not get your hopes up.
the party trick here is the way the same ‘modulator’ gets
re-used for each ‘key’ on the RX7 (or any drum machine or
sampler, or unit with many groups of identical parameters),
and reads its data, and writes its data from/to the table
for that ‘key’.d*mn, maybe i’ll keep the RX7 for this after all. was about
to put it on sale and abandon the project.thank you AssurOne and Allianz (your POS driver can’t drive),
you know you are a bar to creativity (i told u so…)
