Novation Supernova 2 rack

This is my own Supernova 2 editor. It’s cover Osc, Filter, FX & Arp sections editing. Red buttons initiate subsections. There is no performance editing.

I’m going to add some more features like editing vocoder section and manage performances.

UPD: [17-09-15] Bugs fixing

-knob disappearing fixed (i hope :))

UPD: [16-09-15] Huge update!

–CURRENTLY SELECTED SINGLE PROGRAM READING FROM SYNTH!!!

–I’ve fixed some errors & omissions especially in Portamento section there some params I forgot to tune for sending proper midi messages.

–fm knobs names are fixed.

UPD: [14-09-15] I could get MIDI sysex format data by reverse engineering technique and began to program loading patches from synth!

In fact Novation made 2 sysex packets per patch. The first is nova/supernova’s format data for compatibility reasons. And the second for supernova 2 unique parameters. This is why my control panel will be able work with old nova’s & supernova’s as well as the second generation. I hope to complete programming during September.

Ensoniq ESQ1 One-Way Editor

Ensoniq ESQ1 One-Way Editor
Beta Version 1.1
[c] JaseFOS 2015

This release is intended as a ‘One-Way’ editor for the Ensoniq ESQ1.

Although this Panel can’t grab patches from the synth memories, what it does let you do is very useful – you may create custom sounds for the synth and enjoy full recall from DAW project files to store the patch, rather, than maintaining separate memories on the synth (which only has 40 locations available for storing your own sounds) which are awkward to manage and back up. All parameters may be automated from your DAW.

This is an early work in progress so please read the limitations below and keep those in mind during use.

Enjoy!

p.s. explore the Snapshots for a new sound library I’m developing with successive updates!

CONFIGURING YOUR ESQ1

On the front panel of the ESQ1:
1) Press [MIDI] to access the MIDI settings;
2) Set the PRESS parameter to CHAN (not essential but recommended when playing the built in Snapshots);
3) Set MODE = POLY;
4) Important setting – ENABLE = KEYS+CT+PC+SS+SX (this enables external NRPN control);
5) Nominate an unused MIDI Channel on your MIDI port and set the CHAN setting to match.

* IMPORTANT TIP *

The setting at step 4 is not preserved after ESQ1 is switched off so you’ll need to make this setting each time you turn it on your ESQ1.

READ THIS STUFF – IMPORTANT NOTES ; )

a) Don’t turn the knobs too fast – ESQ1 will crash and reboot!

USE YOUR MOUSE WHEEL to tweak the parameters since most mice wheels are stepped so it’s easy to control the ‘flow rate’ of change to the control so to speak. I need to come up with a scheme to remove redundant NRPN MIDI CC messages which select the parameter to be tweaked on the synth. I have some thoughts about how to do this with Lua script which will be implemented soon.

If you accidentally crash the ESQ1, patch settings are preserved in the CTRLR Panel (although you will need to re-do the setting made described in Step 4 earlier). Just send a Snapshot of the CTRLR Panel settings back to the synth and you’re back where you left off. This behaviour is top of my list to solve!

b) Commence sessions by sending Snapshots

Before you commence, send a Snapshot to the ESQ1 using CTRLR’s menu bar so that all settings in the synth match the Panel. Don’t forget to make Snapshots of your own as well of course!

c) Snapshots take a while to send.

It takes about 29 seconds actually. I had to decrease the rate at which Snapshots are sent to avoid overloading the poor little CPU in the ESQ1. Once I’m Lua script skilled, I’ll implement a quick SysEx dump function instead.

d) Many features to come including:

* Patch name LCD that writes to the synth display;
* SysEx patch dumping to the synth;
* SysEx patch dumping from the synth;
* Patch Randomiser;
* Graphic representation of Envelope slopes superimposed on each other (great for staging Envelope times);
* Graphic LFO representation similar to the Envelopes.

New updated GUI

MKS-70/JX-10 with OS4.x upgrade

This is a panel for the SuperJX-OS4.x upgraded Roland MKS-70/JX-10.

Please note: This will NOT work at all with standard Roland firmware equipped machines. It is not compatible with SuperJX OS v3.x too. So make sure you are using SuperJX OS v4.x before you try this panel. If you don’t know what the SuperJX OS v4.x is all about – look here: http://www.vecoven.com/superjx/superjx.html.

I made the panel for screen resolutions starting at 1920×1200. With Ctrlr you are able to zoom the interface so it should be useable on smaller screens too. If you prefer a smaller layout with just one tone visible at a time (Upper or Lower) you can request my old panel which is not developed anymore and lacks several features compared to the new “XXL” panel.

A general disclaimer I send to all people requesting one of my Ctrlr panels:

The Super-JX panel has not been reported to be problematic but keep in mind that this panel is still in beta state. Beta means that the software is not fully tested and there may be bugs which have not been discovered yet. Therefore, everybody who is using this panel is a beta-tester not an end-user. Don’t get me wrong. Bug-reports and suggestions of any kind are very welcome, but I won’t accept blaming me of having problems with your synth (e.g. losing data) as a result of using this panel. This is a risk you are taking on your own when you are using it. If you don’t feel comfortable using beta software better leave the panel alone. As long as there is no official “stable” build of Ctrlr this panel will stay in beta state.

I recommend saving your patches before using this panel. This can be done with a sysex tool. There are reliable freeware tools to do this. If you need help saving your patches let me know:

A collection of all the JX-8P, JX-10/MKS-70 patches I found: JX Patches

Goom editor

GoomGoom is a few component very low cost diy synthesizer. It is 16 voice polyphonic and multitimbral. You can find it at http://www.quinapalus.com/goom.html

The panel can directly control all parameters. Store each voice on its own. Put it in a bank of 16 channels. Store the complete bank on your harddisk. I have had contact with the inventor of the Goom and he made a special edition of the firmware for me so it can be controlled by the panel all the way, without the hardware panel.

Jomox Airbase 99 Panel

Hi Everybody,

This whole CTRLR community is great! I’m new to CTRLR and found it via a google search for a Jomox Airbase 99 editor. I followed a link to the Airbase 99 panel download but it has since been removed. Does anybody on here have a working link to an Airbase 99 panel that has been created? Or maybe have one they are willing to share please?

Many thanks
