Hello,
I was looking for a Micron panel, I searched for hours and it looks like there used to be one a couple of years ago, but now it’s gone.
I’d like to make one, and I’ve read the manual, unfortunally I get lost where it talks about sysex messages, since looks like the Micron has it’s own way of sending/receiving msb/lsb messages. It supports nprn and I found a full list of commands, but now I’m stuck with “how do I convert thos nprn numbers to sysex messages?”. So far, the only thing I was able to do was sending 4 CCs as a button test, just to see if something happens on the Micron side; and it did. But I don’t know how to change values and I’m pretty sure that this is not the right way to do that.
If someone could help me to understand how to translate that table to sysex messages (maybe with a simple example panel with a mod wheel and a button), I could go on with my idea, eventually. Thanks in advance,
MaurizioBOctober 25, 2013 at 8:21 am #14494Hi,
I was doing some research. It looks like the micron uses
Sysex only for Patch saving/xchanging, so forget about sysex.
All editing has to be done with Nrpn-messages. If you look into atom’s mopho panel you will get an idea of what you have to do.
Hope that helps.October 25, 2013 at 3:11 pm #14500Hello,
I am working on MINIAK panel since last month.
It is more than half finished.
I think that it works for micron too.November 4, 2013 at 2:40 am #14723clancy: I finally had time to look at the morpho panel, thanks; still have a lot to understand (I’ve not really understood how the -2’s and -1’s value are interpreted).
nanasi: If you want you could send me yours, I’d like to understand how you work with messages and I can tell you if it works with microns too, anyway.November 4, 2013 at 1:50 pm #14732My panel will be released soon. It’s free.
There is beta here.
“save patch” is not implemented yet.
Beta testers says that it works for micron.

Your panel is working, I’m trying to work with it and it looks like I’ve found a problem with the fx mix. The controller number seems to work fine with a different number (my manual reports 321 and not 65, but that doesn’t look a problem), I’m unable to obtain values lower than 50%. Even if the midi message sent seems right (at 50% the last 2 ccs are 0-0, at 49% they’re 127-127 as they should be) the Fx Mix reported in the Micron display shows “0% dry 100% wet”, for any value going from 0 to 49 in your panel.
I’m still learning about NRPN’s and Ctrlr, so I can’t tell you if it’s a bug and from where it is.Thanks again
November 7, 2013 at 1:34 pm #14837Thank you for your reports.
I used NRPN in this URL.
http://ion-micron-miniak.wikia.com/wiki/Common_FAQ#Hardware_controllers
It seems correct more than pdf manual.(However, there are several mistakes in min/max value.)If your micron firmware is not 1.10, update it.
Negative NRPNs bug has been fixed in 1.10.November 11, 2013 at 1:33 pm #14936I uploaded final release.

You have made my weekend with your panel for the micron. Its like being given a brand new synth! My micron has been in my studio for years and I have been using other synths because of there knobs or vst editors over the micron. Now its back in the game, right next to the Blofeld 🙂
Hit me up for collabs!
Synths: Blofeld, Micron, Korg Z1, Venom, Electribe, Kaosillator.
Daw:FL 11November 19, 2013 at 2:59 pm #15509Hi Folks,
Newbie here, 1st of all huge thanks for developing both Ctrlr and the panel for the Micron ( I’ve been looking for something similar for a while.
I am having problems getting it to work properly, when I request a program or bank from the micron I get a request failed box, I have updated the micron OS and have checked the cables and data flow with midi monitor……Any ideas?
Andy
November 23, 2013 at 3:44 pm #15695Hi Andy,
The Micron panel does not use Programs menu.
Please use “load patch” button and “request full list” button in the panel.I hope this will help.
nanasiNovember 23, 2013 at 9:49 pm #15711Hi Nanasi,
