BTW for what it’s worth I’m not a big fan of the new revision format since going gitHub… what was wrong with the four digit revision numbers? I recall seeing you say it has to do with something gitHub.. I hate to admit it but I long for the pre-GitHub release methods. sure all the “cool kids” are using it as you had said but has it benefited this project much or just caused general confusion?? I don’t see many new revisions appear on the downloads… as far as I understood it you were still going to keep that downloads page updated with the current releases… is that still the case? I don’t really want any experimental stuff – i just want a more or less stable working release – honestly the only thing I think ctrlr was lacking by 1590 was the ability for panel devs to embed fonts and the program manager/snapshots.

If the program manager and snapshots stuff is still not ready would it be possible to give us the ability to HIDE all that “in progress” stuff from the dropdown menus so our panel users don’t ask us how something works if it’s not even ready for prime time? Please! that would be a major benefit. Its very very confusing to end users.

Please don’t take these gripes personally (I doubt you will) – I think its important though that you get feedback like this since it is a public project – i’m sure you value what users think.

      Thanks as always!

I will remove the part that’s not working or in progress, it can be confusing.

The numbering part had to change, GIT does not revisions the same way SVN did. But i’m learning GIT and i think i can make it more user-friendly and I will try to make the next download nightly look more useful (i hope to have just the Ctrlr version appear in the download, something like 5.0.1 etc. this is something GIT does automagicaly, it should make things more friendly)

Thanks Atom. I didn’t want to come off as too critical of this direction – i know it has its benefits but I admit the change has been confusing since I came back for updated versions.

I just want to confirm – if there’s a new version *you* are compiling the build and linking it on the downloads page?

For sure if something can be done to conform the version number that would be really helpful.

            No problem.

Best way to determine what is the latest build is to look at the date of the file in the downloads section. the last ones are 14,16 and 24 april.
