Since I own a Bitstream 3X midi controller, it has a configuration software called "WaveIdea BS3X Configuration software", most recent version is 1.5 from May 2008. What is cool in this software is, you can download it from http://www.waveidea.com/en/products/bit … x/soft.php , install it, even without having this hardware. For our current goal we do not need this hardware. Run this tool, go to tab "Assign User & Mackie/Logic modes", then choose from top left "Use preset", then watch this huge list of supported hardware and software devices/synthesizers! Really a big list.
And the great part follows: Now what you can do, choose any device, and all available parameters from that device, and you can see at the bottom both
1. MIDI string
2. LCD stringwhich are actually the only information you need to build a new Ctrlr, I think. So putting all together we would need:
DEVICE NAME, List of pairs with MIDI string and LCD string.[/color:2t1b2ehw][/size:2t1b2ehw]
Now what we can do is going through list and capturing/writing down all of these MIDI string and LCD string pairs and build a ctrlr from that. How is this idea, would this be useful? If there is interest, nobody has to do anything manually, an AutoHotkey automation should be possible which goes through all devices and all its parameters one by one and writes down the correct MIDI string, LCD string pairs into a separate text file.

Also not always values are represented in a normal fashion sometimes theese are various bits set in various places. If you can include that data somehow, i can translate it to ctrlr XML files and that would help.

I can extract any information on that tab. Do you mean those four additional numbers on the image I attached, would those be enough, if yes, I can add just another four columns with these numbers.

I’ve been trying to extract the data for the Roland D50 off the widlib.xbs with no luck.
I tried copy pasting the data in excel, but I can’t understand by what the values are separated, so i can’t build a usable table with it. Would you mind sharing your extraction method?cheers
