the sysex message for arp tempo is 14 bytes long, even though the 11th byte is 00, the checksum routine you have in ctrlr for the jp8080 sends back a checksum error on the JP-8080… all the 13 byte messages work like a charm though. ..

how did you define the checksum field in the sysex editor for that message ?

that "5" means how many bytes back should be included in the checksum, it’s 5 by default but maybe you need more ?

I thought that would work too but increasing the 5 to 6 still gives a checksum error. It did however cause some incredibly cool sounds to come spewing out of the jp8080 <img decoding=” title=”Smile” />

well then all i can say is D.I.Y, try to code it in lua and see what results you’ll get, maybe you can point me to some working version with source (in any programming language), anything i can copy of, otherwise it’s hard to do anything without having that hardware.

yeah for all practical purposes i’ll just lock the tempo to external clock anyway… If I come up with any work around I’ll share.
