After recently purchasing a Kawai K3m, I set about making a panel in ctrlr so I could use this in my DAW. Getting the wave editor and mono modes requires disabling the protect switch and the panel overwrites patch 1 to affect the changes. As generally use the MIDI library and snapshot functions in ctrlr to store presets so this works well for me. This is version 1 and I hope to improve this panel.
Features
- Controls for all parameters
- Mono Mode
- Portamento
- Wave Editor
To Do
- Improve graphics
- Experment further with sysex to see if waves can be saved without overwriting patches.
- Support reading/writing patches to the synth
- Switch between internal and cartridge
- Download banks/patches from the synth
- Improve the wave editor interface
- Fix wave editor bug where same value harmonics causes wave to reset to default
- Add wave editor presets?
As mentioned above, if you have more than one harmonic set to the same value in the wave editor, the K3m wave will revert to default.
In threory, this panel should also work for the K3 keyboard

December 24, 2019 at 12:45 am #116669Hi, just spotted your message while coincidentally looking for a panel for EMU Morpheus. What you are seeing with missing backgrounds isn’t normal however its been a while since I last updated Ctrlr. As I am off work for Christmas holidays, I’ll spend some time on it this week and check it works with the latest version.

December 24, 2019 at 3:16 pm #116674Hi again, I have just finished testing the panel using the latest stable build of Ctrlr (5.3.201) in a clean Windows 10 install using virtual box and can confirm its working as it should be. Also working fine with 5.3.201 on my normal PC in FL Studio 20. What OS, DAW and version of Ctrlr are you using?

December 30, 2019 at 6:24 pm #116719Hi, I will see if I can put together a Windows 7 virtual machine with cubase 5 and carry out some testing
In the mean time, I have made an update to the panel which fixes a few issues with the user wave editor. I have also found a way way to visualise the use waveform (sine waves added together) which seems to be very close to the actual output. Below is a screenshot of this in action.
You may want to try this newer version which is created in the latest stable version of Ctrlr 5.3.201 to see if it’s any better for you.
The latest version is available here:
