I already figured out this it not possible since you cannot send notes to specific devices but i was thinking it may be doable over sysex?

Basicly it is about assigning channels to specific instruments in same midichain “cable”. Since i do not think i ever done it i do not think it is possible. I think i usually assigned a channel for each synth/instrument via their own interface.

And if it is possible it will hardly be general enough to be worthwhile implement?

There are some devices where you can set the midi-mode (omni on/off) via midi messages but I have never seen that you can set the channel via midi. On most devices the midichannel has to be set in the header of the sysex messages. It will only react to the message if the midichannel is set correctly – so no way changing it remotely.

So basicly when you see mute and solo in “sequenser software” that is purely software derived functionality, there is no such functionality to mute a midichannel on hardware level?

It is just software filtering at mixdown playup?

EDIT maybe i am wrong above, you can send channel an all notes off message and all sound off, but is it just to turn notes playing off “or is it so set them OFF” not to receive messages?

Note: Controller numbers 120-127 are reserved for Channel Mode Messages, which rather than controlling sound parameters, affect the channel’s operating mode. (See also Table 1.)

All Notes Off / All Sound Off is solely a “panic” feature. With lousy midi cabling a “note off” could be lost in transmission. If a synth does not receive a “note off” message corresponding to the former “note on” the voice will hang forever. So this is a way to reset all voices – that’s all. It’s not a way to permanently mute voices/channels.
