when i send a 228 byte progam dump in combo mode all voice get the same program
this, with my editor but with the soundtower editor too
the machine is under warranty , i will exchange it.
so my project is stopped.
i begin a new one : the mono evolver which is very near
July 26, 2011 at 8:48 pm #3015Netchose, I think this is an issue with all the poly evolvers.
Tell me what you’re doing and I’ll test mine when I get home tonight.I have the soundtower editor as well
July 26, 2011 at 9:20 pm #3016in the soundtower editor, try that :
– combo mode
when you click on the edit button ( you want edit one voice) all voice get the same program ( in midi yoke a 220byte dump is sent and i can reproduce ). when you select an other program , ( a program change is sent on one voice) the voices get their orginal programother problem, but i think it is a consequence of the first one, you are unable to edit a voice in the edition window : no sysex are sent. but if you select the voice 2, the program edition windows play with the voice one
you, can try to send a 220 byte dump in combo mode via midiox, the result is the same
i hope the probleme is not the same on all poly evolver
thanks for your help
July 27, 2011 at 12:14 am #3017I’ll try this, but I’m pretty sure this is what happens when you send program dump, it makes all 4 int he combo the same. Google it and you’ll see. I can’t remember if there’s a work around or not.
July 27, 2011 at 5:16 am #3018lot of messages on yahoo group about that are from me , i am GreenComet ” title=”Very Happy” />
edit :
the problem it is not the sysex message in this post ( program dump request). the problem is when you send the 220 bytes program dump.
i have seen other post about that in gearslut forum ( polyevolver can’t save program in combo mode)
so it is possible than this problem appear with all polyevolver Rack, but it is difficult to be sure without someone which confirm
July 27, 2011 at 2:47 pm #3019I’ll get on that today and check it out.

you can try this file
it’s my lastest combo editor.
it read combo name
synchro sysex with your PE
you can load and save sysex files
you can write combo on the PE memory ( be careful all programm have the name CTRLR)
and add a test button wich send 226 bytes Program Edit Buffer Data Dump in order to testJuly 27, 2011 at 7:50 pm #3021Here’s what happens when I use the soundtower editor. Let me know if there’s a different step I should take or show some different output.

[quote:bc2m7ahi]"Well, Dave’s reasoning is that since their is no structure for saving the individual patches within a multi, people would be overwriting their individual patches when they used them within multis. Then they’d get confused and pissed….
I do think that this is crazy. People who are going to be working this way – creating 4 simultaneous sequences with their programs, will come up with a methodology to deal with this issue. when I think about a polyevolver that would allow you to do this, it really pisses me off that it’s disabled. That would just be so great.
You could work it like Waldorf synths. In those, you can save the links by saving the multi explicitly, and you can save the programs separately, or you can save everything. Ultimately, if you’re using a powerful synth, but you refuse to learn how to use it, why should the people who want this flexibility be punished for it? Overly dramatic I guess, but I returned mine as soon as I discovered this. At the time the only mention of it was in the ‘small print’ in the manual – but the machine itself was touted as like having 4 evolvers, which is blatantly untrue.
And the thing that really pissed me off at the time was that after spending hours working on a complicated multi – pressing save would reload the previous saved state of the patches – I lost everything.
I’m virtually 100% sure that he’s never changed this. Apparently at one point he said that he’d consider doing it for some future upgrade, but that was years ago."[/quote:bc2m7ahi]
i think i can make something in lua :
when you click on save button : i go in program mode, i save the program and i come back in combo mode
obviously if the problem is the same for all
July 27, 2011 at 8:51 pm #3024Here’s an active forum with actual Programmers from DSI :
I’m looking around here for more answers :July 27, 2011 at 9:02 pm #3025http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-17069.html
[quote:31bk9py9]Ahhh… it would be so nice store the changes in combo mode… Crying or Very sad
But ok… I can live with that. But just in case I´ll write to the DSI support, to ask them if the Editor helps you to memorize the changes. That would be a helpfull solution.[/quote:31bk9py9]
saving indivual voices seem to be impossible
