I’m working on ctrlr v5 now. I got a main window a status window and a much better working device manager (you can use all the midi devices on in and out)
and i’m going to be writing a parser for those old XML files from ctrlr v4 and creating a "dashboard" for creating new ones ! NO PROGRAMMING NEEDED anymore.it will take a while but my mind is back in code mode, so it should move from now on.
December 17, 2010 at 1:31 am #2276Awesome!
December 25, 2010 at 7:22 am #2278Real ? I wait for…tnx ” title=”Smile” />
December 26, 2010 at 10:25 pm #2277Really looking forward to this! I think if you’re successful with the "no programming" thing, you will see an explosion of ctrlr devices….
January 27, 2011 at 8:19 am #2279awaiting this sorely needed application with great anticipation, i’m sure many people without
c++ coding skills would love to contribute new CTRLRs!!!February 8, 2011 at 4:50 am #2280I know I will be building CTRLR’s. I have forgotten all my C++ code skills from back in college. I have a lot of external hardware I’d like build CTRLR’s for
February 8, 2011 at 11:55 am #2281well u won’t need any c++ with v5 that i’m sure, but for more advanced stuff LUA will be used, since i can’t pre-code all possible devices and their weird MIDI implementations i leave some room. That room can be changed using LUA.
February 8, 2011 at 2:50 pm #2282Any idea about the timeframe for the release?
February 8, 2011 at 3:17 pm #2283i wish i had a timeline, what i can say is that i code any free time i get, i don’t get that a lot but still, you can see what’s going on in the repo http://sourceforge.net/projects/ctrlrv4/ i try to commit whenever i change anything to keep track.
First step is to build a working engine with in-out working and some basic midi messages (cc/nrpn/rpn/simple sysex 80% done) and all the UI components working (90% done), do the vst layer (20% done) and that will be the alpha release, we’ll see from there.
I think i need a month to get a alpha release, if i have some more free time @work maybe earlier.
February 8, 2011 at 7:33 pm #2284Hi Atom,
It would be really nice to know if you’ve any plans for a Mac OSX version in Ctrlr v5?
Thanks!
February 8, 2011 at 10:13 pm #2285ofcourse, mac os windows and linux in both x32 and x64 versions, as with ctrlr v4 VST on windows/linux and AU on MAC, RTAS on mac and windows if someone can get me the RTAS SDK (still couldn’t find it anywhere and digidesign didn’t want to share).
February 9, 2011 at 4:16 pm #2286Yes! If they will run stable – a really big dream of mine will become true!
"if someone can get me the RTAS SDK"
Don’t know what you mean with "SDK", though I’ve no experiences with programming (IF this has somethig to do with this). But besides Ableton I also use PT 7.4 LE. If I can figure out something for you… let me know!
February 9, 2011 at 8:03 pm #2287the SDK is a piece of code you get from Digidesign if you want to develop RTAS plugins, but they choose who gets it, you need to fill an application form and they decide if you are worthy. Apparently i’m not.
February 11, 2011 at 1:15 am #2288The potential of your project is huge. If you get it all working, inc the library, you should at least ask for donations IMHO.
Anyway, I wouldn’t "steal" any sdk from avid unless you want to have to take it down or go to court..
February 11, 2011 at 8:22 am #2289i’m not planning on it, that’s why no RTAS support.
February 11, 2011 at 6:29 pm #2290Yes, if v5 will run very rock solid on all platforms (PC/Mac), I wouldn’t have any problems with doing a donation, too.
February 15, 2011 at 12:54 am #2291Hi Atom,
one question doesn’t go out of my head: Will it also be possible to use Ctrlr v5 as a FX plugin (no VSTi)? Don’t know about the others here, but in my case it would be really cool.
Cheers!
February 15, 2011 at 11:38 am #2292well i think that you can load VSTi as FX plugins, but i see no problem in building a FX and an Instrument versions (it’s just a few flags in the build environment), i know that NI and KORG do that for their plugins.
February 15, 2011 at 12:51 pm #2293In Ableton Live and Maschine it isn’t possible to load a VSTi as a FX (as far I can see). But anyway, if a FX version isn’t too much work and if you feel to do this – it would be really dope!
