Well as you can see some builds are there and more are coming soon.
New features:
– no audio settings anymore, just midi
– midi feedback (sysex and nrpn for now, others midi types soon)
– a Dashboard component that lets you create additional controllers, this one will become the Ctrlr engine in the future
– re-written engine
– more options
– bank/program change menu in the top right corner that might come handy
– you can check for updates in the About dialog
– all UIs are inside a Viewport, you can enable/disable scrollbars if you can’t see the whole editor and scroll around freely
– a lot of code changes i can’t remember now ” title=”Smile” />all this is experimental and not tested, i know there are a lot of bugs and missing code that i will be adding in time

[/quote:21brc2y7]Hi atom what is this? Is it to add new features to the plugins?
July 28, 2010 at 11:12 pm #1743If i miss some controller or there are parameters i missed you can add them here. This is also a test platform in theory you should be able to create your own ctrlr in the dashboard, once it’s completed that will replace the whole Ctrlr engine, you will be able to create any Ctrlr on your own without any programming.
July 28, 2010 at 11:13 pm #1744Thank you for your work, Atom.
July 28, 2010 at 11:17 pm #1745Ah cool got ya thats great because I dont have any knowledge of programming ” title=”Very Happy” /> . How long does it take you to make one of these controllers? Is it hard to do?
July 28, 2010 at 11:27 pm #1746depends, if it’s simple CC messages it takes a few hours, if it’s complicated sysex messages then a few days. also the UIs are problematic cause i’m very bad ad UI design, if i didn’t do UI it would be much faster.
some screens in a fancy 3d space: picasa/
July 28, 2010 at 11:40 pm #1747Cool got ya i might have a look into seeing if i can have ago at something time to have a good read i think

Looks a bit like Cooliris picture viewer for firefox.
July 29, 2010 at 3:06 am #1748Looking forward to the Tetra Mac version! Unless that’s already up? I couldn’t find it…
July 29, 2010 at 11:28 am #1749nope just windows for now, i need more time with the mac builds, but soon.
August 1, 2010 at 10:52 pm #1750I could not transmit knob data for the TX81Z ctrl
this could be a problem with settings, but i tested in standalone and vst mode
i am on
windows xp
motu midi xpress 8×8
cubase 4.5strange because i can transmit note on/off, pitch bend and mod wheel but nothing else via the knobs, nor program change or send. i’m aware that because of the multiclient issues with the motu this can make things difficult in a vst host, but in standalone that shouldn’t be an issue :” title=”Question” />
looking forward to checking out the blofeld one when available ” title=”Smile” />
August 2, 2010 at 10:01 pm #1751Any time frame for OSX Builds ?
Also still looking forward to your ION/Micron/Miniak editor !
Not to sound impatient just curious .
If It matters All the DSI’s, Alpha Juno and XIO are the ones I am waiting for ” title=”Wink” />
Keep up the great work !
August 2, 2010 at 11:05 pm #1752i did the first mac build today and the VST version seems to work, the AU needs a bit more work, i have some time off till the end of the week so i’ll be fixing stuff.

hmm same problem with blofeld, bummer ” title=”Neutral” />
midi light on blofeld is responding but no changes in sound
August 3, 2010 at 10:36 am #1754the blofeld never worked, i guess the sysex implementation was wrong… but i gave you a new tool – the dashboard
try to find the right sysex midi message type and post it here i’ll be able to update the rest.August 3, 2010 at 11:52 am #1755are you gonna do standalone’s in the OSX releases besides AU too?
I really like too have the editors outside Logic on a seperate (spaces)screen for editing. The Audiounit editor adds a unwanted track ( itrigger my synths audio and mid from one audio object now) The editor would add one track per synth in my enviroment thats got too much objects already as it is ” title=”Very Happy” />
On OSX midi ports can be accessed from different apps at the same time so that is no prob.
Anyways thanks for the OSX support ofc…
August 3, 2010 at 5:41 pm #1756yeah i’m leaving standalone for now it’s quicker to debug without the host.

I was able to map a few parameters so I may be able to do a crude mockup of the GUI using this tool though i just have to figure out how to do Mod destination dropdowns etc
not sure what you mean by sysex midi message, i used ccs. here is an example of a slider i made:
<modulator name="Osc 1 Semitone" type="cc" number="28"/>
Min Val – 52
Max Val – 76August 3, 2010 at 10:21 pm #1758there is only 128 CCs available in the MIDI specs, blofeld has load more parameters, CCs are only for quick editing stuff. Blofeld uses SysEx for control, for ex:
[code:1fy6r1ke]
<modulator name="bldOsc1Octave" type="sysex" formula="f0 3e 13 g1 20 g2 00 01 xx f7" />
[/code:1fy6r1ke]but i don’t think the bytes are right since the unit is not reacting to this, i propably understand something wrong, or the g1/g2 params need to have some specific values i don’t know (right now they will be 0 cause i have not yet created the global modulator in the new engine)
August 7, 2010 at 10:35 pm #1759Thanks again for getting those new builds up. If you need someone to test the Xio, I would be more than happy to do that for you.
August 11, 2010 at 6:26 pm #1760Some more changes
– added a revision file to each ZIP archive so you know witch archive is witch revision (inside the file is the build time)
– as simple yet useful feature, you can provide your own XML file to each Ctrlr, just create a XML file in the Ctrlr format and put it in the same directory as the Ctrlr binary and name it like the Ctrlr file but give it a XML extension, example
[code:24k9t53l]
ctrlr: DSI – Evolver.exe
XML: DSI – Evolver.xml
[/code:24k9t53l]
Ctrlr will pick this file and load it instead of the built in modulator map, thanks to that you can now test your own SysEx messages if i give you wrong ones, you can fix errors before i publish new builds with fixes, and most important once you fix/upgrade something you can let us know so i can add the fix/upgrade to the releases
– a View->Reset size option if your Ctrlr gets too big so you can bring it back to it’s original built-in size (you can always delete the preferences directory and it will reset too, that’s just a handy option)that’s it for now
