      Hi.
I just uploaded a new editor for Yamaha SY35 / SY22. It works in Voice mode only (not Multi mode).

      Here’s the panel page

Wow! This looks really nice. I know the TG33 uses the same architecture as these, but I’m not sure if the panel would work with it directly. Any ideas? Your panel puts my TG33 one to shame! 🙂

Hi Paul, thanks for your words!! Don’t worry about your panel, is as valid as mine.

The SY and the TG share almost the same architecture (the TG has some new parameter), but they manage midi data quite different. The voice sysex dump of both machines store parameter data in different positions (the TG can read SY voices, but the SY can’t read TG voices. That’s why many voice banks available on the net aren’t compatible with the SY, they where made with a TG). And the SY can’t send or receive individual parameter changes, every time you change a parameter you must send the whole voice sysex message.

The panel is made for the SY, but is able to receive voice data from a TG, and capable to open TG and SY sysex banks. What it lacks is the individual parameter messages, as the SY can’t understand them. If you have a TG, give it a try.

I have this same editor for the TG, but it’s not completed and not tested.

I got it. Yes, I’ve seen Sysex banks in SY format work just fine with the TG, so it makes sense that your editor should work since it’s writing the whole voice.

Feel free to copy any code you want from my TG33 panel because I’ve tested it extensively in both directions for the individual voice parameter changes:
            1. Changes in Ctrlr show up on the TG
            2. Changes on the TG show up in Ctrlr

just loaded it. that really is soooo nice. love the
                vector recording and playback display.

just one thing: it is a little bit long for this laptop
screen, cutting off the bottom (cannot see a zoom control)

Glad you liked it. You can always (it’s a standard Ctrlr feature) press Ctrl – and Ctrl + to zoom out/in the panel, then resize the window.

Thanks for your offer. I think I just need to add some individual voice parameters, the panel has been abandoned for more than a year, but I think I have the list of messages somewhere.

Beautiful work. Hopefully there will be compatibility with a TG 33 too.

                      All the best and congrats.

Thank you. It is compatible with the TG33, but it doesn’t send individual voice parameter data (it’s not possible to automate any parameter in the DAW, except normal CC data).
