Hey Guys,
Sorry I am kinda no longer supporting the JD 800 editor, I although have an updated version at home that I may try to finish. I’m glad people are still using it…
So, for the JD-900, the idea was to be able to upload a sound into the device then edit using the jd-800 editor… it was never meant to be a full JD_900 editor, but more like upload a piano sound and then edit it\ using jd-800 parameters.
I’ll try to finish the library module with the 5000s sounds I have gathered over the years for the JD_800. I know the panel had some issues with teh latest versions of CTRLR above the one for which it was produced.
I’ll try to finish it up, or could pass the code to someone else.
Global variables in lua still working ?
Let’s say I have a variable that I set in a modulator’s event lua code… and try to read that variable again from another’s event lua code… should’nt it be working ? Used to work like that, no longer work like that…
Atom : Of course, feel free to include them in the wiki ” title=”Wink” />
Efrem : Still version 946 : available here [url:2imo3y9g]http://ctrlr.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=858&start=25#p4844[/url:2imo3y9g]. I need to update it to the latest changes ” title=”Wink” />
Have you listened to the tutorials ?

On how to use Roland JD-VST panel for CTRLRATOM: thanks for the info, will be looking fwd to that fix !
EFREM: Midi automation already works for me in my DAW… Currently, not much has happened with the JD Panel, the only thing remaining is changing SOME of the behavior AND enable the patch library and providing the library file (both of them are ready) !
Hi Atom, sorry for the long wait…
Ok, I’ve tried the latest nightly (1004) and I have the same problem…
Create two buttons, create one method that will basically print to the console the value of the button. Assign the same method to both buttons.
On the 2nd button, TRANSFORM it into a toggle button by enabling the proper radio button.
Try the 2 buttons, the first one will work and lua code will be triggered… the 2nd one will not be working…
Thanks,
ChrisATOM :
Latest nightly (well earlier this week) fixes a lot of stuff that was bad previously !!! Nice Work… However, my Toggle Button seems to not work anymore… it’s like the "event" is not triggered. Any idea ? I haven’t tested fully though… and should start a panel from scratch to verify this claim but am not able to do it where I am right now ” title=”Wink” />
Thanks for your kind offer ” title=”Wink” /> Right now, I need to make sure of the licenses re:donation and any donation would be split with Atom on a 50%/50% basis… ” title=”Wink” />
Could that label have a maximum lenght property ? and a list of valid character ? Of course that could be coded in the callback if too complicated ” title=”Wink” />
Kudos on that last video, interesting to see… I didn’t know you could use the "librarian"/patch organizer at the same time ” title=”Wink” /> Well the library will have a lot of patches ” title=”Wink” /> so you won’t have to go back and forth ” title=”Wink” />

Even I as ogg afternoon, I will not have much time to devote to acomputer music .. With faders I noticed that the sound effects in the change, while in the edit section almost none of the fader does change the sound if you move the mouse ..A I do not remember if you told me if this program once placed, can export the plug-in as the format. If you would have followed the 1st tutorial, you would have seen that you could set the Panel Midi Devices using the Right-Click and select the "Panel Properties" option… The edit mode is really for developping the panel, which you don’t want to do right now ” title=”Wink” />
As Atom kindly said: faders don’t respond in edit mode !
Chris
Actually 3 of those were fixed and I just uploaded to the database… sorry about that ” title=”Wink” />
Now I need to fix the "read" behaviour that if JD is not found, then the panel remains in reading mode and stop responding to other mode… After that, making it compatible with the nightly will be my main issue… I think that the problem lies when the panel listen for the jd’s midi tx when JD faders are moved on it ” title=”Wink” />
Also, you should really stop using the Edit Mode of the panel, some sliders don’t seem to work the same in that mode. As a user, you should not be in the EDIT mode unless you wanna change things and feel at ease with breaking things ” title=”Wink” />
I’ve identified 2 sliders that don’t transmit, I’ll fix those soon enough… It’s pretty easy to fix, but right now I’m looking at making the panel compatible with the nightly ” title=”Wink” />… and have to spend some time with the family ” title=”Wink” />
Well I can see that from this video you just made, you’ve got it working ” title=”Wink” /> But your should not be in EDIT mode ” title=”Wink” /> You can break stuff in that mode ” title=”Wink” /> Provide me with a list of faders you think don’t work (make sure you have active tones selected)… and let me know, I’ll test those here…
Thanks
Finally, if you can hear the sound by clicking on the virtual keyboard… and your JD is in MIDI UNIT NUMBER 17 and your MIDI TX EDIT DATA is in ON ! and one of the tone on your JD is active, moving a slider on the JD would move it on the PANEL. If this works, then you are all setupped…
Hi Efrem,
Your first screenshot is from the nightly ” title=”Wink” />… Do use the stable version and make sure that`s the version running for now.
Now you need to setup your cards properly BEFORE doing anything else… If you click on "READ" it`s going to wait for the JD to send stuff and since your input is not setup, then it cannot receive… changing parameters will not work. To reset, you can go to About and Close, I’m going to fix that soon.
BUT you need to setup your cards properly… Both the midi input and output from the "green card button" at the top of the screen (in the main toolbar). Your output is ok, but your INPUT need to be the input of your JD, NOT your PCR !!! The reason the input is red is because it’s "taken" by Cubase, you need to free BOTH JD midi ports from cubase and then assign them in CTRLR and then, assign them to the pannel… look at my 2nd tutorial on how to setup within the DAW
If you thingk everything is setup correctly, but seems to not work, click on about and close the about. It shoudl work !
