I might start today if anyone is not doing anything. This is totally new to me, do you think it will be easy?
How long should it take? lol ” title=”Confused” />
thanks
January 31, 2012 at 3:56 pm #3839I started this today i should be done by the end of the day (it’s really simple), anyway i’ll do a basic panel (no graphics fancy backgrounds etc), you can then take that and make it pretty.
January 31, 2012 at 4:05 pm #3840As long as it works it would be amazing! It would be great because I just can’t find anything that works on osx….
Ive been searching for months and I only found this at the moment.Would it be vst too? I maybe wrap it to work on pro tools but stand alone would be just perfect.
Thanks a lot, I’ll wait for further notice from you then!
January 31, 2012 at 4:32 pm #3841Ctrlr is always Standalone/VST/AU the panels are platform independent you load them as presets to the Ctrlr plugin/program.
January 31, 2012 at 10:17 pm #3842will you post it on this thread or is there a special location for downloads??
thanks ” title=”Smile” />

February 1, 2012 at 6:12 pm #3844It’s done, just tested it with my own JX8P, all parameters should work. You need to wait a bit longer for the program dump feature, i’m still working on that.
February 1, 2012 at 9:48 pm #3845nice one dude! ” title=”Smile” /> thanks a lot i’ll test it as soon as I can.
i believe it would be impossible for me to create that… thanks very much
February 2, 2012 at 7:30 pm #3846Wonderful! It works, even though im having a few questions
a) the midi input does not work: i have a emu xboard and only works through other program( old jx8p)
b) how can i change trough the promgram change like in the old version? i cant switch between the patches on the xp using the last panel
c) (IMPORTANT) how can i save a panel state (preset ) within ctrlr ? I made a really nice sound and I want to save it! how do I do it? strangely dont find any save state or similiar
d) is there a randomize?
thanks for your patience, my problem is that my jx 8p its compeletely trashed, all the buttons on the machine dont work and i cant select the programs!
cheers and thanks again
February 2, 2012 at 10:47 pm #3847Download the nightly build of Ctrlr, the stable version is too old.
a) Go to the device manager (the green circuit board icon on the main menu bar) select the devices you want to use in Ctrlr (one for in one for out i assume, for simplification select just out, that should be enough for start). Open the JX8P panel, enter Edit Mode (the second icon on the panel’s toolbar) a property panel will appear on the right side with loads of properties, the ones you are interested in are, the Panel MIDI Devices (IN/OUT), and the MIDI Channels (IN/OUT), select those that correspond to your JX8P, exit Edit Mode. Test the panel now, it should transmit messages to the device.
b) you’d need to create a slider/button/combo for program changes, i simply haven’t done that in the panel.
c) that’s just stupid but you can’t for now, but you can save the panel in XML format with each program, that will work. Also when saving with a project in a DAW/Host (AU/VST) the Ctrlr state will be saved with the project, so the information is never lost
d) nope, it’s somewhere on my todo list but very far away (if you have some coding experience you can write your own in LUA inside Ctrlr, it would be pretty simple)
February 22, 2012 at 4:30 pm #3848Hi all,
Here is a schreenshot of my first version of the JX-8P Ctrlr.
Knobs done with Knobman (new to me) background in paint.
It’s all very adictive ” title=”Wink” />!
All parameters working.Stil working on keymode and aftertouch buttons and sliders.
There are a some things i need help with (don’t know anything about programing)
Program dump request and send button with all modulators updating (the JX-8P sends an All-Tone-Parameters sysex string with all parameters (67 byte long including all 59 parameters))
I’ve seen the custom LUA code in the Shruthi-1 1.6 but it’s a bit like magic to me ” title=”Wink” />I’d like a 10 digit patchname lcd (first 10 value bytes in the All-Tone-Parameters sysex string is the patch name)
Is it possible to build an bpm stepsequencer witch i can send to different modulators in the Ctrlr?
Need a modulator with a custom image that only reacts to incoming midi and doesn’t react on mousepointer ( anyone an idea how? )
Greets DMM
