      i see there is no min/max on the Combo modulator.
      i want to add an ASCII list, which runs from
      32-127 midi values – all ASCII characters – whilst
      showing the characters on the combo.

      how is this done? it is a series of ten modulators
      for setting the patch name.

        let’s open someone else’s panel and have a look…

        pulling one up at random, the rather brilliant ESQ1 panel.
        (which appears to be using NRPNs – good place to look if
        you need to use those) thank you jaseFOS

        so you put the in the combo list with ‘=’
        and only the bit before ‘=’ is seen on the combo.
        so i’ll try that.
        eg:
        LFO1=0
        LFO2=8
        LFO3=16
        ENV1=24
        ENV2=32
        ENV3=40
        ENV4=48
        VEL=56
        VEL2=64
        KBD=72
        KBD2=80
        WHEEL=88
        PEDAL=96
        XCTRL=104
        PRESS=112
        *OFF*=120

        (what is ” *OFF* ” ?? why the symbol? )

        ok, so that should be sorted 🙂

          here’s a little example panel of a group of character
          selectors – not an actual ascii list – shows how
          some characters interrupt the listing (2nd box)
          (see ascii name_v01.panel below)

          i haven’t yet figured out how the width of the dropdown
          list works, it comes out wider than it should.

          any explanations here would be useful.

          (the idea of this panel is to build a preset namer
          within a panel – 10-character name)

            You need to play with the 2 last numbers in “Component position and size” and also with “Label width” (when the label is on the left side).
            Have a look on my Pro2 panel…

              i’ll try label width. already tried all options i could find.
              strange how the 2nd group combo in that panel example goes so
              wide – it must be all the listed invisible items entered as one
              or something. in the character list, it must be some syntax thing
              Ctrlr picks up on -? –

              do you know how to make a ‘increment/decrement’ control a list?
              (combo) so it can step through one at a time? i got it working
              before but i don’t know how i did it(…)

              i also have another thing i’d like to try:(separate issue)
              depending on one other parameter option,
              i would like the list to change. if you look at the D-110
              panel, PCM can be PCM group 1 or 2. because the waveform
              type depends on the ‘Structure’ parameter, which selects
              either ‘S'(synth’) or ‘P'(PCM) as inputs to the ‘structure’
              (mix/ringmod etc)i had to use a workaround.
              i don’t know how i would make a different combo list appear,
              unless it used a Lua, and the combo used another one that
              used a text list, -or something similar.
