      Hello , im building a virtual midi controller for FL studio and Ableton Live, similar like TouchLive , so my controller have :

      – 9 master channel faders with 9 knobs- (Normally thats for the Master, no colors just black and white controls)

      – 24 knobs for FX (Colorized like ableton) groups of 3

      – 16 Fader and 8 Knobs all Colorized in groups of 4, and 3 groups of 2 fader , 2 knobs also colorized ( = 22 Faders and 14 knobs , total)

      – 4 or maybe 6 X/Y Controls

      – [4 Big Knobs i wanna change to 4 infinite rotation knobs…]

      I wanna make a knob that can jump from value 0 to value 127 instantly

      The question is:

      How can i make a knob with infinite rotation ? If possible .. because i wanna make that knobs like a scratch pad

      Can someone makeme a littel example?

      sorry for my badass english , im spanish xD

      Thanks in advance!

        I was waiting for atom (ctrlr’s developer) to respond to this one but AFIK there’s no way to make an infinitely rotable knob, nor do I personally see the point of doing that in a GUI… the knob is to adjust the value of a parameter, correct? the value has a range. It has to. There is no "infinite" values in midi, at least none that I’m aware of.

        you want to make a scratch pad… does the rotation actually need to be infinite, grandmaster flash ? <img decoding=” title=”Smile” />

        At the risk of completely missing what you’re trying to do… Lots of hardware synths have infinitely rotatable knobs but maybe you don’t understand their purpose? With infinitely rotatable knobs, when you rotate a knob there are no sudden value changes based on where you left that knob last. There is no physical start/finish for the knob rotation to avoid sudden jumps when adjusting the parameter with the knob.

        So, no there are no infinitely rotatable knobs in ctrlr, but one parameter you may be interested in is "slider spring mode" to spring back to a predetermined value after you stop rotating the modulator/scratch pad

        what causes the knob to jump from 0 to 127 instantly? Is this driven by something else? Is there ever a case that you dont want the value to automatically jump between 0-127? Does this knob require user interaction as in when the user rotates it you just want the values to be constricted to 0 or 127? If the latter you just create a fixed image slider and fill the slider contents with something like:
        myValue1 = 0
        myValue2 =127

        Sounds like a cool project you’re working on.. saw there were still no replies so I wanted to help you out based on what I could understand from your post.
        Work on what you can get done and make a list of things in a notebook or something you can’t figure out. The possibilities are close to endless with Lua scriptability and writing Lua scripts is not as hard as it might sound or seem at first.

          It’s something that maybe can be useful, and i thought about adding but never got any time. It’s a situation where a knob sends 2 values (usually CCs) one value (for example 0) for movement in the right position and the other value (for example 127) for movement in the left position, you can adjust how "sensitive" it is (how many ticks it sends during one complete rotation) etc.
