      Hello,

I try to use the DSI – Evolver.exe on a windows XP system. I installed the C++ libraries.

While starting the DSI – Evolver.exe an error appears :

Unhandled exception at 0x00502970 in DSI – Evolver.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x0155d2af.

I tried another ctrlr ‘Nordlead’ which started propertly.

      Can somebody help me out?

      Thanks in advance!

The standalone version might be using stored on-disk settings witch might be wrong, my idea is to delete them and try re-starting the program. the settings are store in your home folder i Application DataDSI – Evolver folder (assuming you have the latest revisision, if it’s some old revision the folder might be named Evolver or something else, i’m sure you’ll find it)

I downloaded today the latest version from the download page.

I removed the whole DSI Evolver folder from Application Data folder and tried to restart the application, with same results. The folder structure is recreated.

When using the DLL in Ableton Live, Ableton crashes.

Is the latest build ok? Does it work on other windows xp machines?

          Waldorf – Blofeld is working too, but I dont have a Blofeld <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />

It’s working now! I dont know why? I just copied the dsi folder in my program files. And checked some readonly attributes in the application data.

              Thanks!

Just registered to report that recent versions of DSI – Evolver.exe are crashing on startup for me.
I compiled a debug version and found that the app crashes in function EdoModulatorSysEx::setMidiChannel (), in the following line:

                *((uint8 *)getData() + midiChannelHalfBytePosition) = (midiChannel);

The variable midiChannelHalfBytePosition is not initialized, which leads to crash.
I’ve no idea how to fix it, though ))

After finding this thread I deleted DSI Evolver directory in Application Data, and downloaded the latest build (August 22, revision 1424), but it still crashes.

Best regards & thanks for your efforts!
                Boris.

Interesting, revision 1397 now seems to work! Revision 1424 still crashes, though.

i fixed a bug yesterday that might cause some crashes (but in a different place), i can’t hit that error you mentioned.
Can you tell me what OS are you using?

Revision 1433 seems to work fine.
"Seems to" because I’m at work now and can’t test how it works with an Evolver <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />
                          But it certainly doesn’t crash.

                          Thanks!
