I managed to program my juno-106 and the KORG DW-8000 from logic environment by now. Juno sent controllers which i used in my sysex-sliders, the DW-8000 didn’t send anything except note, vel, bend and mod but there is a good manual with all the necessary information (although it doesn’t work now for some reason i was not yet able to determine).

BUT the Casio CZ-5000 (which is a great synth) is a mystery to me. it doesn’t send any data except the usual key stuff (see above) minus vel (which neither keyboard nor synth understand). I was not able to find any background information about what messages can be used to program this synth (i don’t even know if it works with midi internally, it seems like this is an very extraordinary style piece of equipment). However it seems like there ARE librarians which I can’t use because of my system for example Sounddiver (I guess I am not the only one, sad story). I would be VERY interested in any background information concerning this. So if anyone knows anything, please answer!

there would still be midiquest (which can do CZ also i think). but knowing i could do it in environment myself for free if I only had any information about what is going on inside that synth is very annoying to me.

p.s.: I am not a native speaker, so i hope you managed to follow.

by the way, i use following equipment:

        – MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo (santarosa)
        – Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.4
        – Apple Logic Studio
        – AKAI MPK 88
        – MOTU MIDI Express 128
        – Roland Juno-106
        – KORG DW-8000
        – CASIO CZ-5000

to come soon: Kawai K1rII (rack version of the K1II, same MIDI)

hopefully to come soon: ATARI MEGA STe with logic 2.5

I’m doing the CZ1000 editor, the CZ series is a weird line of synths, but it’s possible to edit them.

where did you find any information on this? i’ve searched the whole net for quite a while now.
my guess is that it send whole dumps into the synth at a time and that it’s all bit coded as opposed to byte coded.
as far as i have come to understand it can dump (although i couldn’t manage). so i guess that if it can dump it has to read too.

can you give anything more? i know this forum is about other kinds of requests but i’m desperate!
