Well i need to get something new, Ctrlr got bit and my build times are way to long, currently i have a Sony VAIO w C2D and 3g of ram, i wanted something with an i7 cpu and at least 4gb of ram. I was considering the new HP Envy but they lack FireWire and i need that to connect my audio/midi stuff, so that’s out. The other one is the Alienware m17x but it’s not exactly nice looking <img decoding=” title=”Smile” /> i know i can get a macbook pro but the price tag is way to big for the hardware insinge.

I’m in poland so i’m a bit limited with choices, the Alienware has the ATI card that will work with Snow Leopard so that is one additional plus, any suggestions guys ?

all those asus notebooks have the 97 720qm cpu, and i’d like something faster, the alienware m17x has a faster cpu, this is my problem, building cpp apps requires cpu and fast disks, i’ll replace the normal sata disks with some ssd disks anyway.

My problem with Alienware is that it’s made by Dell now. I had a dell once and within 4 years I had to send it in for repairs 8 times.
I’ve had a Asus now for a year and not a single hardware problem.
