I’m finishing the panel for the Roland XP-30 and it will be available in the DDB soon.
It can load patches and banks of patches in .syx format and it can save patches in .syx format.
It can work in patch mode and in performance mode (simply select on the upper screen "Patch" or "Part1…Part16") so you can transfer/receive patches inside a Performance or from Patch mode. You can control Performance Part parameters as well. There will be in the future a panel to control the Performance Common parameters and another one for the Drum Part.
It has the names of all the presets in the synth.
The hardest part has been arrange the EFX section. When you select a new effect, the knobs update to the names, values and units to match the synth. (Much better than having 12 knobs were you see Parameter 1-12 and value 0-127).
With some minor tweaking, it will be valid for any Roland JV-XP synth.

· The patch browser has become a complete bank manager. Now it’s possible to work with up to two different libraries/rom banks at once to copy and paste patches between them and even create new libraries.[b:1r2v7s51]New in version 1.4:[/b:1r2v7s51]
· Added a cooler patch browserThe panel has been uploaded to the DDB. It uses two fonts that are attached here.
Know Issues:
Sometimes the panel doesn’t receive the patch correctly when doing a program change. When this happens, the upper display shows Loading Patch… and don’t change to the name of the patch. To solve it, press the button GET to reload the patch or select another patch. If the displays shows the name of the patch means that the dump has been received correctly.July 24, 2012 at 4:52 pm #4636who’s house? Das’ house.

July 24, 2012 at 10:42 pm #4638Wow : so much unexpected !
THank you a lot : i’m now tempted to take my XP-50 out from the closet where it’s stored since a couple of years ” title=”Wink” />
(and it looks [i:81fhuqa7]very [/i:81fhuqa7]good !)
Thank you & congratulationsJuly 25, 2012 at 1:26 pm #4639Thanks snk.
It would be cool if you could test the panel with your Xp50. Right now I can remember two or three parameters that are different from the XP30 to the XP50 (mostly related to banks management and outputs) that can be addressed easily. The sequencer is out of my reach.
July 25, 2012 at 10:47 pm #4640I shared this with a few musician friends who own an xp-50, maybe they’ll get back to you with some feedback. You don’t happen to have a 5080 panel in the works do you? I don’t own one but that unit would greatly benefit from a ctrlr panel of this caliber.

July 26, 2012 at 9:15 am #4642Hi, Dasfaker.
Unfortunately, the XP-50 is not close to me at the moment, but i should be able to try later (since a while, i want to get it back, i keep a very good feeling about its sequencer… but the big size doesn’t fit in my studio any more )
I have to make some room in my studio, and next time i’ll go to my XP50’s "temporary-new home" I’ll grab it back ” title=”Wink” />July 27, 2012 at 3:55 pm #4643"snk":d4449ioa wrote:I have to make some room in my studio, and next time i’ll go to my XP50’s "temporary-new home" I’ll grab it back ” title=”Wink” />[/quote:d4449ioa]Not a problem, take your time.
I’ve uploaded the panel to the DDB. I added more info on the first post.
