August 9, 2012 at 5:06 pm #4718Hi Efrem,
I’m not entirely familiar these days with orion but I believe what’s going on there is that you can’t select the midi in device in the ctrlr panel because your daw is already using that port, so it’s disabled from ctrlr. The only devices/ports you can select from panel edit mode (on the far right) are those that you ave selected in the main ctrlr devices (the soundcard icon)..Atom might be able and willing to help further but I believe what you need to do is set up the MIDI ports in your DAW (not ctrlr) open the panel properties (right click on the panel>properties) and enable all items in the light green box in the top left – "Accept MIDI from Host", "MIDI input goes to Comparator" and "Output MIDI to Host". Then in your Daw’s VST channel, if the daw allows it, set up the MIDI routings to match the input and output ports connected to and from your JD. I believe then you should be able to set the in/out ports in ctrlr as well.
If this doesn’t work a possible working alternative is to use virtual midi ports and MIDIox or something similar to set up a virtual midi port and then route to and from it.

August 10, 2012 at 8:24 am #4719I think the problem is in programam CTRLR. It when you select the MIDI IN port does not use the midi sequencer but appropriates directly to the midi port. Leaving no possibility to be played by other VSTi midi control .. And ‘as if CTRLR worked independently within a sequencer ..
I also made several attempts using virtual midi ports. But I have not solved the problemAugust 12, 2012 at 9:49 am #4720bo .. here in the "msepsis" obviously does not matter to resolve any bugs of the program ..
August 12, 2012 at 2:07 pm #4721MIDI device sharing between two applications is impossible in Windows, that means you can’t use a MIDI device in Ctrlr and in another program. That’s not Ctrlrs fault it’s a Windows feature.

I’ll assume it was just frustration speaking with your inability to get things working… but I don’t write windows, nor ctrlr for that matter.
This is a pretty clean forum, ctrlr is developed and maintained selflessly, having that attitude around here isn’t going to get you anywhere.Monstrum Media | Music, Sound & Software Design, Chicago / San Francisco listen

August 21, 2012 at 6:05 am #4724Efrem,
Were you able to get things working? miscommunications happen on the internets, but you seemed dissatisfied with my attempt to help you out?? It’s not a bug, and I don’t "resolve any bugs of the program", I only write panels for ctrlr and try to help others do the same.. there’s nobody here you should be "booing" ” title=”Smile” />I haven’t used Orion for some time and am not sure how well (if at all) it supports MIDI through VST instruments. That’s a prerequisite for ctrlr to work as a VST. DAWs like Live, FLstudio, Cubase, Reaper, Energy XT are known to work.. if you have trouble getting things working in Orion I’d suggest trying something we all know does work, like what Atom (sole/lead developer of ctrlr) uses quite a bit, which is FL Studio.
Good luck!
