yeah, I know the synth isn’t even out yet, but I started working on a layout. Once I get some details on the compatibility between the pulse2 and pulse I’ll make this panel work for both, complete with a skin change depending on which version of the synth you’re using. The Waldorf site states full backwards compatibility but that might only be for sounds/programs, not necessarily identical CC/Sysex per parameters…

I’ll also be making all CV parameters available for the pro version of the pulse, again details are sketchy on the pulse2 although it’s still supposed to be released in the summer of 2012.

hey! thanks, Filch. I’m excited to work on this one. Clearly inspired by the pusle2’s interface so I didn’t come up with the look entirely on my own – I had great source material to work with!

Unless there’s demand for the pulse1 panel here, I wont have this available until at least a week or so after the pulse2 is released as waldorf is keeping the sysex specs under closed doors until the baby is born, so to speak. They have said it will be backwards compatible with the pulse 1 but haven’t specified if by that they mean just the programs will be compatible, or the midi/sysex specs. I suspect the cc/sysex specs will be similar but in no way exactly the same.

I’ve gotta say.. as for the machine part, thanks dude. I think there are a number of machines here. I’m just inspired to the core by the possibilities that Ctrlr and Lua provide. I don’t think any of us can disagree that there is disproportional follow through and support in terms of software from the manufacturers of hardware MIDI synthesizers, with a few exceptions. This isn’t a knock on synth manufacturers. Things have changed so much since.. say 1998 when all attention started turning towards VSTs. Lots of things have needed to adjust, settle and re-align a bit and now we have tablets and smartphones in the mix. You take a step back and look at it, Ctrlr is the glue that holds all this together. I’ve used PD, Max and of course have built the proprietary Inst Definitions/devices/dashboards/etc that lots of various DAWs allow you to build for hardware synths but to me the real power behind ctrlr is Lua, with it’s cross-platform portability. It’s exciting and I don’t think any of us have even scratched the surface with the possibilities just yet!

long winded, but I felt compelled to just ramble <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />

First off, let me say that the layout looks impeccable. Then, secondly, I’d like to say that I would love to get my hands on this for use with my Pulse Plus, if possible.

              Thanks beforehand.

Thank you. At the moment there’s no functionality on this panel as I’m my immediate project is plowing through a wavetable editor for the waldorf microwave II/XT/XTk.. I have a number of projects I’m working on besides this, but I t will probably be the beginning of november before I actually start to make this pulse panel functional. I do not expect it will take very long once I get started to build all the functionality for the original pulse.. at this point it feels like waldorf will likely miss the "summer 2012" release mark for the pulse2 so I’ll likely build the functionality for the existing pulse/pulse+ into this first, then if necessary I’ll make any tweaks needed to make it function with the upcoming pulse2. Waldorf will not release the midi implementation on the pulse2 until the synth is released.. it may use identical sysex/cc, but I somehow doubt that.

wow, looks great! I would also be very interested to have this work with my original pulse. especially since the pulse 2 keeps getting pushed back.

also, do you have that wavetable editor finished for the microwave? That sounds pretty awesome too!
