Well each component you create on a panel responds to incomming midi, but not to any MIDI message but those that are the same as the outgoing midi defined for that component, it’s a MIDI Feedback feature. However in VST/AU mode you can control any component/modulator using VST parameters and those are usually linkable to any MIDI Event your host supports.
March 29, 2011 at 6:41 pm #2708I’ll try, many thanks Atom
March 29, 2011 at 10:38 pm #2709I uploaded some new revisions now. Theese should work better. Some stuff that was fixed, is midi out/in (that was not working for a moment), a auto-update notification that does not crash the application on linux, some new LUA hooks, GUI fixes (components z-order was not saved now it is).
You can disable the auto-update in LUA Hooks->Manager->checkForUpdates set it to 0.
I’m working on x64 linux builds and mac builds at the moment, but i want to be done with the whole build-stuff and get back to the actual program cause there is a lot to be done.
also there is a short howto (Linux forum) on how to build Ctrlr on your own linux distro if the binaries don’t work.
I started to work on the DeviceDB, a web-based database for devices/panels/banks/programs/manuals that will be accessible directly within Ctrlr (the Share icon). The first draft .sql file is in the repo.
March 30, 2011 at 5:31 am #2710I’d be happy to participate
Win x64
Elektron GearMarch 30, 2011 at 8:32 am #2711The win 64 version doesn’t start at all (on win 7)
32 bit also (on Xp sp3)March 30, 2011 at 9:03 am #2712Need to be more specific, witch windows version, do you have the VCRedist package installed ?
March 30, 2011 at 5:10 pm #2713I tryied on Win 7 64 ultimate and Xp sp3 32. But I don’t know if Vc is installed. how can I check it?
March 30, 2011 at 5:17 pm #2714i have Win7 x64 Ultimate and it seems to work fine. XP SP3 should be fine with the VC Redist package it’s here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d … bf0912db84
it should be on the installed program list.March 30, 2011 at 6:20 pm #2715The current Win32 executable crashes instantly for me too – I’m on Win7 Ultimate, 32bit. Reinstalled that VC Redist package (had it installed already, but repair/reinstalled to be certain); also tried running as Admin – no luck either way.
March 30, 2011 at 7:12 pm #2716admin rights are not important, i guess, can you check if you have the Ctrlr directory in your home folder this will be: C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataRoaming if so try to delete it and re-run.
Can’t really tell what’s wrong i’ve been testing it on different platforms and OSes so far at least it starts.March 30, 2011 at 8:00 pm #2717Yup, thanks – deleting Ctrlr.settings allowed the exe to run. It crashes when I load my work-in-progress Virus editor panel, but I expect that sort of thing until the releases are stable. I won’t do too much work yet, in case I lose it ” title=”Smile” />
March 30, 2011 at 8:55 pm #2718post that panel here i’ll see what’s crashing it.
March 30, 2011 at 9:11 pm #2719Cool – here’s the panel and the bg image. There’s nothing substantial in the panel, just a few things I was using to test the MIDI I/O. All I deleted from the User dir was the .settings file, btw.
March 30, 2011 at 10:02 pm #2720i found a bug that caused this,
i also forgot to add the export-resources with panel option, will do that too.the new revision will have that fixed (what changed was the amount of LUA hooks for the modulator and that was crashing).
March 31, 2011 at 12:26 am #2721Revision 303 (had to note this)
i added a TODO file that i’ll try to keep updated: http://ctrlrv4.svn.sourceforge.net/view … DOLIST.txt
had some work to do today at my actual work so i couldn’t do a lot but i fixed some stuff, have to go to sleep for a moment, and i’ll get back to it in the morning.March 31, 2011 at 5:56 pm #2722Honestly I’m confused. Is there already a Mac version? Here http://sourceforge.net/projects/ctrlrv4/files/ it’s written that there are different versions for Mac. And also there is written "Totals: 5 Items". But where are the "5 items"? I can only recognise 4 items (win32, win64, Linux64 and Linux32).
March 31, 2011 at 7:06 pm #2723at the moment i’m writing this no mac builds, hope to post them tonight (i’m figuring out the packaging system for the MAC)
March 31, 2011 at 8:04 pm #2724i would love to help somehow. i have a TETRA and am using a mac. can test in 64 bit or 32 bit mode.
March 31, 2011 at 9:37 pm #2725I’ve been visiting this forum and using your ctrlrs on a daily basis these past few months. I own and use a Mopho keyboard and a Tetra, Mac OS 10.6.5, Ableton Live 8, and occasionally Logic Pro 9. I would be more than happy to test the beta version, please let me know.
Thank you so much for all of your work Atom.
