You’re right TK ! I’ve some hype with maschine and rackattack
I’ve made a panel in maschine x64 on the fly with master volume , prog change , and indiv. volumes (cc’s) . Great step !

Thanks for your support Ctrlr works perfectly (the vst params are bi-directionals ) The basic sliders and buttons are nice
Since few months i ‘ve tried it , it had been improved !

Sysex sliders could be nice because i can make programs in vsthost without overwrite RA factory bank wich is very good start
to make music.Make a complete panel is not in my capacity but some params could be cool !

I’ve a question : why Jrackattack sends 14 bytes and RA only 12 ?
Does it means i must type a 12 byte sysex or 14 in the modulator edit?

JRackAttack has a bug (i wrote it in the post above) and sends two additional bytes at the end of the message ("F0 F7") witch are ignored by the synthesizer, and the bug is simple F0 is the start and F7 is the end of another sysex message, so either it’s sending a message and an empty one or it’s constructing the message wrong, either way those bytes are not valid (according to the officail MIDI specs once F7 appears in a sysex, it means it’s the end of that sysex message, thus there can’t be two f7 bytes in one sysex message)

You’re right , the strange thing is JRA. sends valid message to RA !
However 12 bytes messages work too : l’ve recorded RA tweaks with reaper and played them RA reproduce the tweaks
Right for 0x7f too
In Ctrlr when i type : f0 3e 11 00 20 20 00 00 02 xx 42 f7 i have the value but 42 stay when i turn the modulator
When i type: f0 3e 11 00 20 20 00 00 02 xx 7f f7 i have constantly f0 3e 11 00 20 20 00 00 02 00 7f f7.
So it’s nice if Ctrlr bypass that .Thank you

Now i would like to link the modulator to the rackattack midi output
I’ve seen "modulator linked to panel properly" tried some things but no success
when i turn the rackattack knob the modulator doesn’t move
the data returns to the rackattack and no problem with midi feedback.
Please how i can do ?

If Ctrlr is set to receive the data (midi settings are ok) and the data is flowing into the panel the knob should move. Check your midi settings (MIDI INput device for the panel etc).
And show the entire formula for the knob.

All is good when i turn RA knob , in the midi monitor i have in and out data at same time
Cool but the modulator slider doesn’t move and suddenly jump to 10 value. May be when i will retry
it will works.

If you move the RA knob and there is data both IN and OUT that’s wrong, there should be only IN no re-transmission should occur. This was a bug i fixed and that might be causing some fuss. For now try to do one way communication Ctrlr->RA the other issue is on my head and i’ll try to fix it with the next nightly (i think i already did but it will be up to u to test it)

The master volume has worked in two way mode because this is the only parameter the rackattack sends with 7f so ctrlr reconnize it but time after it doesn’t work .

The rackattack is 24 synths in one ! So to have a full panel i must do like the drumstation panel : a button changes panel.
909 button shows 909 params et 808 button shows 808 params.It’ s means 24 under-panels ( groups ?)!
I would make a general part to quick controls and specific parts .
The fx part is complicated ( not really understand the structure yet !). 4 fx per sound ? Why i have only 1 fx i can controls in RA and not in JRA where seems to have 4 fx per sound.I have only one send to fx and one
fx select per sound .May be this is a fx chain.

Other problem is my panel seems doesn’t send recall at the beginning , i can bypass that when i open
ctrlr in kore with the snapshot preset morph feature…..

Other thing :the midi mode. It change root notes for a kit . Again a complicated thing !

And i don’t know now if i make panel specificly for maschine with 16 sounds (to make quickly new kits)
or a general panel.

Hard for me ! Brainstorm ! I show you my start panel ….

Well if the checksum changes and RA sends the checksum that means you’d need to mask that byte so that Ctrlr does not compare it. I don’t know if i made masking available (or mentioned that before) but it is possible to ignore that checksum, i’ll try to explain that later and do something more obvious with the new release. I’ll see your panel later at home.

The new sysex token for the Waldorf checksum i "w" it has the same usage as the "z" token, for ex "w5" means count 5 bytes left of the checksum and place the result here.

Not sure to understand exactly what you mean
It could be nice if ctrlr can "understand" the RA.

The RA have 1500-2000 params !!
So even if ctrlr understand or ignore the byte it can’t be reinit to a new program
Is there snapshots ? What is the BANK and PROGRAM in the panel properties ?
Ctrlr is dump capable ?
Another thing : a sound contain many parameters ex : filt cutoff of Bassdrum2 sound
When i see Bassdrum2 in different progs i see cutoff in differents positions
So structure is Program/sound program/sound !
I’ve found for fx section : there is four fx at all .
I want to make something like JRA for the fx section . But it seems too hard for me……

I’ve done all prog and glob params yet and start to make ‘volume1&2 pages of JRA ( a kind of global prog mixer)

I’ve two panels possible :
I make a "drum machine template" ( i could name it Machine Attax ) for mpc’s , maschine ,mpd’s
with 16 sounds to quicly make own adapted kits

a full RA panel like JRA?

What do you mean by z5? is it the cheksum will i must type to ctrlr "understand" the sysex ?

The panel structure is done (the fully RA) but i need for complete it to learn more about ctrlr :

Digital screen style : i want 8 knobs (or less) without names and values ( i can do it ) + a "digital screen" ( a window ) with corresponding values
( the RA values not 0-127) and parameter names.

I’m sorry to take you some time but the panel have an interest : it has a better ergonomy than JRA in one page !
I would share it once done .

in the place where the sysex byte is supposed to be type in "w5" this will count the checksum of 5 bytes left of the byte checksum, and put the result in that place.

I’ve tried several times the w5 byte :
Ctrlr to RA : the RA counts errors each values
Ra to Ctrlr : not working

I’ve found the Send button ! Another step

I’ve have big trouble with groups . Some modulators won’t move where i want ,they "said" : remove from group (modulator-6) and when i click nothing happens,
remove from group (modulator-6) stay. modulator-6 is not listed
when i’ve openened the panel i saw modulators outside of their groups and i can’t put them in the groups now
How can i do ?

I’ve tried the w5 byte with the 1004rev
This seems to work for ctrlr modulator but not completly (at some points it is lost) … and the version is not stable for me and the thru’s functions are extremely complete !
My panel is distorted in it and ctrlr is slow so i return to 934rev
Anyway RA not work with w5 byte…
May be an option "ignore byte" where i can choose the byte i want the modulator ignore receive only.

I really don’t understand what you are saying

1) it seems to work but not completly, what do you mean, when does it work and when does it not work
2) and the version is not stable for me and the thru’s functions are extremely complete, it’s unstable how it crashes, it hangs it uses too much CPU ? what’s unstable
3) My panel is distorted in it and ctrlr is slow, what’s slow the GUI the MIDI ? what OS are you on, are you using Ctrlr as standalone or as a plugin, witch nightly build do you use
4) There is an ignore token i forgot to put into the SysEx editor it’s "ii"

Sorry for bad comments ! Not the correct word
I think the GUI is too slow with 1004rev standalone and i haven’t thought to see the %cpu
The send button seems not sending midi or there is an option
The thru’s function are ultra complete but i was lost and there is new window( i’m not remenber the name ) wich have same thru features than panel properties
but seems not synced with it.
My panel is distorted in it ( stretched) and i was not able to correct this.
The w5 byte works only with the middle range of the modulator(tried on a linear bar) when the value goes to extremes the modulator value jump.

You talk about a "ii" i could type instead of w5 ?

For the RA panel synthethis part i would build i have for exemple 24x "Osc 1 Mix" so i can :
-Build 24 tabs with 24 modulators
OR
-Assign 24 different sysex’s for 1 modulator and then 24 buttons or 1 modulator select the sysex corresponding to sounds 1-24 but…
How i can do and where i can find documentation to build this ?
I would build fx’s section in that same way

I’m working on some fixes to the sysex stuff, the incoming checksums will be ignored now, some radio button fixes and other bugs reported will be fixed. i hope to release a nightly soon, i installed Windows8 yesterday and am struggling to get my development environment up and running so it might take a while but i’m fixing stuff you can always check the changelog to see what’s going on.

If you find some bugs please report them in the Bugs section otherwise they will be lost or forgotten on the forums, and i don’t want that.
