      Hi,

I created a panel for the Korg Volca Keys and I can’t work out how to save or load patches. Save especially. I’ve looked into how other panels have implemented saving and I just seem to be hitting a brick wall. Any tutorials on how to go about this? I would have thought it’d be documented on this site somewhere.

I’ve gone through the demo files and it doesn’t seem to be there unless I’m missing something. I don’t need to transmit or receive sysex or anything as the Volca Keys doesn’t have that functionality. I just want to be able to save and recall patches on the computer which then transmit the CCs to the Volca. Super handy for saving patches in my DAW and recalling them when I open projects etc.

      I’ve attached the panel.

      Thanks.

When Ctrlr loads with your project (within your DAW) the state of the panel is the same as when the project was saved.
You can use the MIDI -> Send Snapshot option to send all CCs to the device (this will go through all the modulators on the panel and send the value of each one using it’s assigned MIDI message)

Use the midi library, allows you to save some snapshots.
I haven’t made an intensive use of that feature, but I think you can recall and display sanpshots names by linking sliders or boxes to that property.
I’ve used a panel that recalls presets… but I can’t remember its name.

Thanks for the replies guys. Snapshots would work great. I would like to have the option to save patches though as it would be handy… How would I do this?

Can anyone help? I’d really appreciate it.

Like, is it possible to save the state of the panel? So that I can load it as a patch and send a snapshot then (if needed).

Does anyone know how to do what I’m asking?

                    Hi Pinksoir,

Check out the Lua methods in this panel:

                    It should get you started…

Here is some noise I organised into an acceptable format:
