Hi Atom,
Is it possible that you can state the few gotchas which you stated earlier in a short post when compiling the xcode projects? I’m really eager to start experimenting with programming ctrlr’s myself for my new gear.
Also if more people are able to build them it would save you lots time as forum members can also help each other so you can spend some more with your lady ” title=”Wink” />Nice rig! Building up setups are so timeconsuming…. all the cables it always gives me headaches.
Same to you. I prefer this bunny though … ” title=”Wink” />
Yess!! You fixed it. No crashes and everything works as the VST. The image doesn’t look rescaled at all.
Thanks a lot! It’s bugfree under OSX/ableton now! TopI’m gonna test it asap. My brain is damaged already and my fingernails are not nicest around so I’ll take the risk.
March 22, 2010 at 2:05 pm in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #985I also didn’t get a ATI based laptop running on high resolution. But great news it is probably possible to use AU.
This also will open doors for ctrlr to the Logic 9 (which a lot of people use in conjunction with hardware) community since there is no VST support in logic anymore.March 22, 2010 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #983Did you already had succes with any of the distro’s? My hardware is a Asus P5K and nvidea gfx card. My broh has the same hardware and also could install it without any hassle. Also on my VAIO N11M I installed it. If you want me to upload my distro somewhere let me know.
March 21, 2010 at 11:51 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #982Also very important to use a SATA cd-rom drive. It would install otherwise but will not boot properly afterwards if it was not installed with SATA (kept me busy some time because I used IDE cd-rom)
March 21, 2010 at 1:03 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #981With Nvidea GFX chipset the kalyway should work. All the other I couldn’t get to work as well. In kalyway you can select nvidea drivers or use nvinject.
March 21, 2010 at 12:37 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #979You should try the kalyway distribution. Works fine on my pc and dual boot with xp. Witlh a 10$ wifi dongle you have a fully functioning speedy mac. Be sure to install it on a SATA drive.
March 21, 2010 at 12:19 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #977I was searching on the juce forum for similar problems Jules himself came accross the problem too:
http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/view … 0&start=15Also when closing project etc. AU did work as they say. Isn’t there a wrapper for it or has the code to be rewritten from scratch.
March 20, 2010 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #975Maybe another thing which could work is building it as an AU plugin. Is this possible with Juce?
March 20, 2010 at 11:54 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #974Ok. I see in your report that you use Live 8.0.10. That’s also before the max4live engine. I wouldn’t make sense for me to downgrade then.
The fucked up thing with ableton support is that they have a lot of issues going on and they’ll choose the easy way probably just say: third party pugin causes this. Maybe if I can find a way in describing it to ableton they’ll have a look at it. Actually they should as I paid for the software not to crash ” title=”Smile” />
Meanwhile let’s hope Juce will find a workaround for it.March 20, 2010 at 11:31 am in reply to: Midi interface multi-client compatibility Ableton 8.1/OS #972I’m gonna try 8.09. Maybe this solves the crashes because there the engine wasn’t rewritten for MAX4LIVE.
First have to get a new wifi dongle for my Mac as Ifried my second in two months time ” title=”Smile” />I see there is a build already. I gonna check it out tonight.
@mamonu did you already checked the matrix-1000 editor. It’s awesome; totally new sounds can be made and even parameter automation works good (slow curves on a couple of bar).
This weekend I’ll try to post a snippet of all analogues being controlled by the ctrlrs. Here’s how the windows vst look like (quite good layout):
Excuse me I’ve browser issues and it sometimes repost the topic. Can you remove one please.
I see you’ve add a button. But when I click it I get to paypal Polska. I know several languages but no Polish ” title=”Smile” />
There’s some cool acid tunes in the list. As for the block: unblock it!
My hybrid Digital/Analog home studio so far:
Synths:
Korg Ms-10
MAM MB33 MK I (unfortunately not midi CC controlled)
Roland Juno 106 reversed keys with all voice chips replaced by clones.
Roland MKS-50
TX81Z (bought after I saw there was a ctrlr for it)
Oberheim Matrix-1000
Waldorf Pulse +
Jomox Airbase99
MFB Polylite (arriving today because I heard it in my broh’s studio and it is awesome)Recording:
Quad core pc running OSX(86)
RME Fireface800 with Alesis AI3 ADAT convertor
UAD-2 All plugins
Ableton Live 8.1
Akai MPK49 controller
Akai APC40 controller
USB Midisport 2X2
Motu Midi express 128 USB
Behringer BCR2000 (sitting there without a job after the ctrlr could be configured to work with the APC40)The ctrlr’s are the best thing happened to my studio in years because finally ableton can automate and recall these old little fellows.
