      Hi,

I’m new to Ctrl, and have been plugging away on a panel for ATC-1. Going well, but when searching on sysex, it appears that a panel has already been made?

      http://ctrlr.org/forums/search/atc-1/

Searching in general, I often find references to panels for synths that I have, but are not on the download page?

Maybe I am missing something, but is that because the old panels are no longer compatible?

I also saw this link for the ATC-1, but no longer available. http://en.osdn.jp/projects/sfnet_ctrlrv4/downloads/Windows/Studio%20Electronics%20-%20ATC1%20-%20Win32.zip/

      thanks in advance.

      Glen

        Hi,

I’m having an issue with the latest version of ctrlr. I cannot load multiple vst instances each with their own unique panels into maschine. Here is my workflow:

I am controlling two synths; a Studio Electronics ATC-1 and a Korg Polysix with midi. I’ve created panels for both synths in the standalone version of ctrlr. I then open ctrlr.vst in Maschine, and then import the atc-1.panel, and then export instance as atc-1.vst. I then do the same for the ploysix panel. In my VST folder I now have act-1.vst and polysix.vst. I rescan the plug-ins folder in Maschine and both instances show up. I load atc-1.vst into one group and everything is fine. In another group I load polysix.vst but maschine loads the atc-1.vst instead. This happens every time with out fail. I can also then clear both VST instances and just load the polysix vst and maschine still loads the act-1 vst instead. It’s as if Maschine only recognizes the first instance of an exported vst ctrlr. Each additional exported vst is ignored and Maschine always refers back to the first one created. I’ve done this same workflow with AU plugins and I don’t have this issue, everything works as expected. I’ve tried deleting preferences right before i export new vst panel instances hoping that it might write a new unique vst identifier or something but nothing has worked.

Can anyone please shed some light on why this is happening and how I can get Maschine to host multiple instances of ctrlr vst’s each with their own unique panels.

        Thanks

        Nick

PS. I did find a workaround but it’s way too cumbersome. Here’s how I did it: I load act-1.vst into maschine, then remove atc-1.vst from the plugin’s folder, then rescan the plugin’s folder, and then load the polysix.vst. Then both vst instances are loaded into maschine and work properly. However, if i close maschine and reopen it, both instances are again act-1. it’s like voodoo and it making me crazy!!!!!;)

          Hello,
          I just discover ctrlr.org, it’s look good.
The “mediafire” link in this page for the ATC-1 is broken, does anybody could send it again ?
I try to make a new one, but i think it take a lot of time :/

          Thks

Came here looking to see if anyone had talked about doing an Roland MKS-80 panel and found your replies

Here are all the files I have relating to that Ctrlr: http://www.mediafire.com/?3vuslg1zbfda0ci

Can’t check them because I don’t have ctrlr installed, but good luck ;p

Has the development of the panel been stopped?

I’d love to finish the panel but I only started using CTRLR and don’t have much experience in panel construction.

sawan – Looks like a nice panel!
Be sure to export your panel as a bpanlez with resources included, or maybe there’s been some change to ctrlr since the panel was uploaded as it seems there are no gfx, just color settings within ctrlr.

Early Stages with this one. All available cc controls are there. Sysex stuff (basically anything with a menu + a few other things) are still to be done but I don’t have access to the required info. I already contacted S.E. about this once and they sent me out some stuff but it was of no use, see the other ATC thread for this. I’m not even sure they have the sysex info anymore? I’ll contact them again, though.

With the menus you have to click to the right of the text field because I couldn’t work out how to get the text on top of the button. Ideally you’d just click where the text is and get the drop down. For anyone with multiple filter cards installed, clicking just to the right of ‘FILTER’ let’s you select between them <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />

Still working on the gui. Gonna clean up the background image (still learning to use gimp). The empty ‘mod’ button next to vol will lead to another panel with glide controls and mod wheel, velocity & pitch wheel mod assignments. Somwhow forgot ‘osc 2 fine’. I think I’ll put it where noise is and move noise to where mod is and find somewhere else for the mod tab. Probably something kind of out the way.

Or I might cut it in half and have the filter and envelope section below the other bits. This would give me room to have the mod section on the same page. But I do like having it laid out pretty much the way the actual unit is.

Feel free to make suggestions, cheers.

Hi, I’m trying to take the sysex data I’m getting from midiox so I can put it into my ATC-1 panel.

I’m a n00b when it comes to sysex and ctrlr so please bare with me <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

First thing that’s throwing me is when I try to monitor myself moving the knob on the ATC to change lfo 1’s target, midiox doesn’t detect anything. But if I monitor the output of midiquest doing the same thing I get 4 different event types and 4 long sysex strings. I’ve attached a screenshot of the reading I get when sequentially cycling through 4 of the targets in the list.

Midiquest works fine with the ATC, so I’m guessing that the ATC not sending anything out for this doesn’t really matter anyway.

So my actual problem is translating the midiox monitor data into data I can use in ctrlr. Can anyone explain hpw to do this? Or point me in the direction of somewhere where I can learn?

                            Thanks

well yes and no, the program format is a stream of bytes like
                                [code:2sjal3md]
                                F0 01 02 03 0a 93 94 12 23 ..... F7
                                [/code:2sjal3md]
the first few bytes describe the message contents, and the rest is the program data, that you need to parse and read values for parameters, it’s a program all data packed into one big message.

Well like i thought this is actualy the program data format, all parameters packed into one big sysex message sent when you do a bulk dump on the device. This is not the sort of linear controllers that should be used, but even that can be implemented in ctrlr since this is exactly what i’m working on at the moment.

sorry, it’s all a lot easier to read in the text doc i uploaded to mediafire. i didn’t see that you could upload files here. i’ve attached them to this post.

i don’t actually know anything about sysex stuff so i just copied the info i read from the photocopies.

as far as i can tell the format is like this:

                                      LFO1A_EQU_$03_LFO 1 ASSIGN_0 – 11

1st part is the parameter name for the device
2nd part -"EQU" i have no idea, but that’s what’s written in the thing the SE guy sent me. (have a look at the photocopies)
3rd part "$0_" i think this is the sysex number
                                      4th part is full description
and 5th part is the min and max value

some of that is obvious, sorry.

well this stuff is also sysex and formatted the same, as you can see, but most of it is covered by ccs already so I don’t know if it’s necessary to use sysex for those functions. as i said before i’m a noob when it comes to this stuff. is it usual for synths to have both sysex and ccs for the same function?

Ok, so here goes. I had a bit of trouble reading some of the text because it’s quite low res so I’ve zipped the files just in case they come in handy:

                                            http://www.mediafire.com/?wdc8c4bwccb4dd9

Sorry for the formatting. The code thing got it the closest. I’ve included easier to read text & pdf files in the .zip
