ps Just moved this thread here for better follow-up, in the proper section ” title=”Wink” />
Latest news on development:
Everything I could think of is implemented right now… now, I have to make the library and then it’ll be ready for some testing ” title=”Wink” /> Again, this will support the JD-800 in read/write/update mode and the JD-990 in write/update mode.

March 27, 2012 at 2:53 pm #4056Really great work! Can’t wait to test…
March 27, 2012 at 5:03 pm #4057fantastic job, maybe the display, and buttons that blacks become all yellow .. You could not put the LED turns red? I’m a bit picky ..This is a natural size of the plug-in or is enlarged or reduced ?
For the number of preset functions as’ Which key is pressed?March 27, 2012 at 5:55 pm #4058Actually, they’re not yellow but orange ” title=”Wink” /> as in the JDs ! At first I didn’t want to spend too much time on graphics, everything is done using ctrlr’s default part and some settings. I can also see where some of my design is better than having a real represation, for example the wave list is better than a knob ” title=”Wink” /> I actually would prefer nicer parts but it’s not my priority right now… The buttons/leds I might do eventually. It’s the natural size, it’s quite big, but I had to make it big to show all those sliders and mainly having it "feels" like a jd while still alowing the sliders to select all values between 0 and 100 ” title=”Wink” />
"For the number of preset functions as’ Which key is pressed?"
What do you mean ?
March 27, 2012 at 8:15 pm #4059a ok thank you I mean the numbers from 1 to 8 as bank and Number. However, if I can help I have the card: Drum, guitar, and piano
March 27, 2012 at 8:32 pm #4060The read/write will read/write from/to the temporary memory of the JD !
If you want to save your patch to bank #23, you simple enter 23 on your synth and then click on write from the patch editor and click on write on your synth.
I prefer this approach that will let you "modify" your patch without saving and leave all the "saving" to the physical synth. That way, your hardware JD becomes almost a true VST, with unlimited # of patches !
So no need for back/patch #s ” title=”Wink” />
March 27, 2012 at 8:33 pm #4061But I may introduce a feature to save to a specific memory location ” title=”Wink” />
March 28, 2012 at 6:59 am #4062to ok, so it is good too .. The important thing is knowing that you can save the modified preset, thanks
March 29, 2012 at 6:25 am #4063When will it be ready?
March 29, 2012 at 1:35 pm #4064ASAP, I’m still working on the library… and not that happy about it so far ” title=”Wink” /> I also want to change some of the things I did re: Image Buttons etc… and everytime I have to change something, I need to do it 5x (since they are 5 panels)… So if I change 10 sliders, I need to actually change 50 of them !
I’m looking forward to the program manager that atom is working on as I might drop the library if it meets what I think it should do…
But I might have a test version next week…
March 29, 2012 at 5:29 pm #4065ok thanks a lot,
March 31, 2012 at 2:34 pm #4066Hi LilCthuLhu,
what the……..ok, not bad words, , I downloaded the image of your editor for the jd, and I am gobsmacked!!
I mean, I do know that when you get the hang of it is easier, but…flipping neck, sorry,
What a job. All my congratulations to you Sir. So by now, you probably understood that I am basically drooling.
As I had mentioned before I did have other things to do, namely work, which is good, by the way, considering what is going on everywhere I read somewhere you are a pretty busy man too ” title=”Very Happy” />
Anyway, seriously, well done! I did really wish that I could have helped you, beleive me, it would have been a lot of fun.
But I am also so far behind you. Well, you never know, I may come up with something, one day, maybe for the waldorf desktop.
All the Best to you and Atom of course. ” title=”Wink” />
LucaApril 4, 2012 at 6:19 am #4067Currently debugging under latest nightly release… some of the things I was doing are broken and need fixing ” title=”Wink” />… under construction… DO NOT LOOSE HOPE ” title=”Smile” />
Before converting to latest Nightly, the only thing "NOT" working was MidiLearn and automation under DAWs, and I’ve pinpointed "where" but not "why"…
Stay tune !!
April 4, 2012 at 9:50 am #4068The automation issues are my fault i’m fixing them, i hope the next nightly will sort that out.
April 4, 2012 at 10:22 am #4069But in practice it is a plug-in midi controller or even a Virtual instrument ?
April 4, 2012 at 11:41 am #4070It is NOT a Virtual instrument… (look for Jaded800 on google for a partial "imitation" of a jd as a VSTi). My panel is a VST Patch Editor… think of it as a controller of the jd within your daw or ctrlr ” title=”Wink” />

April 4, 2012 at 12:31 pm #4072a ok thank you

[/quote:35l5g98h]I even had a problem in the release (for some modulators) ! Are you talking about both having issues or only the Nightly… Anyway, I’ve stopped converting to the nightly because some of the lua stuff was not working or was unpredictable… but it did help me pinpoint stuff that was not properly declared. So I’ll be ready when the next nightly is release ” title=”Wink” />.
April 6, 2012 at 6:49 am #4074So far, so good, I’m actually quite pleased with the current result that I should be able to provide an alpha release tomorrow night ” title=”Wink” /> I’ve decided "NOT" to publish the 4,000+ patches with it yet mainly because the current "release" version does not support ListBox and the library requires them… AND the current nightly appears to be "twitchy" with the panel, so I this alpha release will be for the stabe version ONLY ” title=”Smile” />
For the rest, it does everything perfectly ” title=”Wink” /> Moving sliders on the JD moves the sliders on the VST as long as you MIDI EDIT TX ON on the JD ” title=”Wink” /> And moving the sliders on the VST changes the values on the JD. Reading/Writing to temporary memory is working. Program Change Auto-Read from temporary does work also. Ability to completely reset a tone as per Roland’s Initial Patch published for the JD. Ability to clone a specific TONE to the ActiveTones so changes on the "active tones" mainly follows the first tone selected. The patches library is working really great ! I’ve got just one issue with it that will need to be assessed for it to work ” title=”Wink” />
