Do they make use of the CTRLR engine?

      Yes of course.

And with regard to your other question I requested atom’s OK before ever selling any of my editors because of the same concern. He fully approves.

Ok. your line was missing the function arguments… i suspect you meant:

        	if mod:getComponent():getChildComponent(0):isMouseButtonDown()

        		--stuff to do

        	end

This just prevents anything within the if statement from running period, even when the button is clicked/pressed/true/on. I’m mainly using 1590 but also tried that in the latest mac rev.

              🙁 No.

It’s not caused by a bad com.apple.audiounits.cache file. I don’t have Logic installed on the systems I’ve been testing with so this cache does not even exist.

Furthermore if I remove the ctrlr.component from my
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder, I no longer have the ctrlr au after restarting Reaper. Then if I simply put the ctrlr.component *back in* the folder and restart Reaper I *do* have the ctrlr au after restarting reaper so it doesnt seem there is any cache voodu.

Can you (or anyone) confirm that they can even get a valid and working AU restricted instance exported from either ctrlr 1590 or the latest mac build (262f2710)?? If so which version of OS 10 is being used? I have access to everything 10.6 up to 10.9.3, in each with both ctrlr revs mentioned I get no working AU.

just to bring this topic back up to the surface – What is the current situation in regards to exporting AUs?

I currently have one mac on 10.9.2 (mavericks) and one on 10.6.8. I’ve tried exporting a restricted instance from ctrlr.au loaded within reaper in both OSs first using “ctrlr 1590” and “ctrlr 262f2710″… when i place the exported AUs into my AU folder, restart reaper and rescan my plugins it does not seem to see or recognize the AUs… Am I missing something? Is AU exporting still not ready?

Thanks Atom. I didn’t want to come off as too critical of this direction – i know it has its benefits but I admit the change has been confusing since I came back for updated versions.

I just want to confirm – if there’s a new version *you* are compiling the build and linking it on the downloads page?

For sure if something can be done to conform the version number that would be really helpful.

It’s ok that it’s taking some time.. I had to ask at the risk of being a pain/nag.

By all means I can be available to test with the panels I have built. This is a feature many of my panels users are asking about. It will be very exciting to release the functionality when it is finally available but only after thorough testing.

jasefos- i’m sure that what you speak of is exactly what you say – has to do with the version of ctrlr the panel was dev’d in.

To be perfectly honest I haven’t touched any of my panels/editors since 1590 as that version was very very stable, and the exported panels have been tried tested and used by all of my panel’s users with incredibly stable results. if people have issues I haven’t heard them! I’m hoping that when the program manager and snapshots stuff is ready to go there isn’t *TOO* much stuff that is broken from my 1590 version panels 🙂

just wondering what the status is of the snapshots/program manager stuff… I see it’s still there but have had trouble getting it to do anything – is this an area of ctrlr to still avoid for the time being?

Cool. Thanks for the explanation. I was away for some time and there wasn’t an update under the downloads tab until a few days ago.

You’re probably aware but the most recent version listed on the download tab doesn’t have a version number associated with it. Not a really big deal, but would help when it comes to reporting errors

                              Thanks!

congrats! It’s always good to be challenged with our day jobs so we can apply to our side projects!

While I think ctrlr on mobile is a cool idea, most synths are not intended to be mobile or used that way.. 🙂 so getting the desktop/workstation version as robust as possible (hint: Program Manager!) would be my suggestion of priority.

Also sure it’s cool to be able to control synths w/ an ipad etc but I still don’t find that as useful as being able to control from a full fledged workstation that’s tied down in the studio with a large monitor attached.

Just my 2 cents on the idea. Get the program manager working please then get a mobile version working, thats my suggestion.

What version of ctrlr are you using? I’ve been using build 1590 on both windows and os x for months and months since it was released for hours on end at a time both developing and using the panel and haven’t experienced this either on a mac or in windows.

Another way to address the issue with the mouse pointer (i’m assuming you were using an old panel that was dev’d before that JUCE change that triggered the infamous invisible mouse) is to simply select all modulators in the modulator list , then with the panel in edit mode (cmd+e, you should see a light grid over the GUI in edit mode) simply scroll down until you see the “mouse curser” attribute in the panel properties and change that to “Normal”. My hunch is that you accidentilly broke something with the fix you applied which I’m assuming involved some search & replace on the XML…

                                          Hey Jimmy,
no this isn’t the best place to ask something like this but no matter where you post a question like this (gearslutz, etc) you’ll be just getting a bunch of subjective opinions anyway.

live band? 80s? I see why the vortex comes to mind. Call around a few local music shops to see who has one in stock and have her try one out in person to be sure she likes the feel of the keys, the key action, adjustability, mobility, etc.

Plug that thing via USB into a laptop running Arturia’s Prophet softsynth and she’s ready to rock 80s style.

By all means try out as many soft synths as you want to be sure they have the sound characteristics you’re looking for, every arturia and native instruments soft synth is available as a free demo. try before you buy!

                                          Good luck, man
