This looks like it will be really great. Since I own only a Q, I hope when you are done you make that panel as well!

Thanks Atom. I know the program manager will be great once finished. I wish I had more time to use and build panels and learn a bit of LUA….Ctrlr is one of my favorite things and I look forward to someday having panels for every one of my synths.

Nice! I have a Q. I guess they would be pretty similar and am definitely interested in this panel.

if your host supports midi control of VST parameters. at least digital performer seems to not support this.
although, I can use ctrlr panels in vienna ensemble pro to get it to work.

I do have the soundtower editor and unisyn which i got to help me convert into ctrlr panels. When i get a chance ill try
to post more sysex for the microwave in that thread. For multimode, velocity and key range, and whatever else I find

yeah.. the xt is definitely my favorite synth even though it’s orange.

no… nothing that complex. Its exactly the same, still has 8 instruments. you just have three times more voices to work with.
I believe in both the microwave and xt there is a midi channel byte that determines which instrument is being controlled. You need to use sysex instead of CC like you can for a single sound.

I haven’t had much time recently to finish even my first panel, but I got about five basic panels slowly being built right now when i have time. hopefully I’ll get at least the super simple SQ-80 finished soon. I’ve been using tabs for the different instruments in multimode. Its been cumbersome to get the completed panel on one tab copied over to another so I can just go in and change the midi channel byte, so I’ve just been adding a few depending on the synth and polyphony. I’m sure there is a better way.

I’ll have to look and see how far I got on the microwave, I can send it to you if you think it will save you time, although I’m sure you’ll use a lot of LUA stuff. Hopefully someday I’ll dive into that a little more.. you can learn a lot from looking at the code in yours and others panels.

                      excellent!

I will happily pay for this panel. I am really glad to hear you are planning multi-mode support in 3 (especially as a lucky owner of the 30 voice version) Just a knob that changes which instrument the panel is controlling would be handy so we can create a panel per track for each instrument. It will be interesting to see how you implement it.

I continue to have a lot of trouble with this on mac and pc versions. Its weird. I can’t pin it down what happens, but it happens every time I try to make a panel with tabs. At some I can’t copy modulators from one tab and then paste them… then drag them onto another tab. it only works with a brand new modulator.

I would like to be able to easily copy a whole tab of modulators to another tab. Is there a way to do this by copying xml code or anything? I don’t need every instrument of a multi, just a few depending on the synth. Like right now I’m working on a q panel and I want to make four tabs for four instruments but this problem is frustrating. I still haven’t finished my first panel but I should have a lot posted to the database soon.

I mean UIfixed slider. Now at work with windows 7 I tested it and its working fine. Last night there was definitely something wrong. It seemed to be sort of cycling between random values both with sequential and using an = for specific values. but that was on windows XP…I’ll look into it later.

Could be missing something but In the latest nightly using sysex this seems to not be working with combo fixed slider. Its sending out the wrong data.

I guess I need to make my panels smaller. I can’t see the whole panel and the zoom buttons are gone.

oh..I got it now. I see you have to export while you are running as a plugin to create a plugin. So far Ive been working on panels in standalone mode

excuse me if i’m missing something.. is it possible to export a VST or AU plugin panel yet? I can’t find a way to do it, just the standalone instance.

I’m also just getting started and learning and can’t provide much feedback yet. I’m not a programmer but understand sysex pretty well. I will probably never dive into LUA and all the threads around here can be intimidating for someone like me, but I am glad that you also seem to be building CTRLR to be able to do most important things without it.

CTRLR as a plugin is excellent and the simplified standalone binary is an great idea! essentially your allowing all of our synths to feel like software synths. I use Digital Performer, but i’ve started playing with using CTRLR as a plug in in reaper rewired to dp. its pretty awesome because reaper has a very good midi learn system for automation and ctrlr is essentially converting midi cc’s to sysex for easy hands on control. I would prefer to have one synth panel per track. I’d like included all snapshot and sending options, program manager and variations, but I really like the idea of it being simple and taking away all the icons and parts of CTRL needed for building panels. just what you need to use it.

I’m looking forward to the next nightly and hopefully a new stable version which includes all the new program manager features pretty soon. I got a little discouraged when I couldn’t figure out how to use global variables so I was glad to learn it was broken. I plan to make panels for all my synths eventually and your work is truly appreciated!

I just did a test. It seems its no problem dragging the group into the first tab. Its dragging groups into any of the other tabs that doesn’t work. (an empty group does work though)
